I am assuming this thing will be able to move. Giving it a phalanx turret would basically make it an unkillable bomber making it impossible for ground units to do anything.

It would be broken and just used by people to cert farm.

It would be able to move, albeit very slowly, and at the altitude it will be flying, there will be little to fear, as targets will be beyond render distance; the phalanx turrets will be there mainly to combat other bastions.

You said in your original post the turrets would be for ground bombardment.

Besides I don't like the idea of altitude locking it.

It would keep it from landing and becoming a temporary base to launch attacks from.

Also if you altitude lock it you would have to have a way for armor to drop safely and allowing tanks to rain down is just extremely OP and would just cause tank zergs of 50 tanks raining down on a base and there being no way to defend against it.

If it had to land you would only be able to deploy so many tanks at a time and they would all be coming from one location.

Then again if you allow vehicles to spawn you have to give it health so it isn't an immortal zerg allowing tanks to just pour from it in the first place.

There has to be a way to destroy it other wise you end up with a base that can just go anywhere without fear.

Honestly the way you would have it would just ruin the gaming making anyone who had one immortal and unstoppable thus boiling the game down to which base will and outfit choose to roll over next.

Ground bombardment would be an option, it'll just have a very large skill cap and be inefficient compared to other alternatives, such as a liberator.

There's not enough flat land in the game for a huge thing like that to land. The continents would have to be much larger for that to happen. I also don't get how a tank zerg spawning from a base is different from a tank zerg dropping from this. The tanks would have to drop on flat surfaces, or risk getting flipped over on landing, therefore making it impossible for them to drop on a base, as they would have to drop on a plain or something next to a base. A limited number of people would be able to drop from this, mostly focusing on sunderers to drop from this and deploy. There also could be a 1 hour cooldown on when infantry, vehicles, and aircraft could spawn on this after a certain amount have already spawned, limiting the possibility of and endless zerg.
