[Suggestion] Perks for more unique characters

    Currently there are no permanent choices you can make about your character other than picking a gender, name and skin color. That's a good thing because it allows you to dabble in every aspect of the game without ever being locked down to a specific class, but it also has the downside of never allowing you to feel like you've made hard choices to be uniquely qualified for one type of gameplay or another.

    A way to improve that without unbalancing the game in any major way would be a perk system, that allows you to pick from a list of different bonuses every few battle ranks, allowing you to build a character that functions slightly differently than others in indirect ways.

    The perk system should never affect combat stats in any major way, because it shouldn't create any ideal builds that you need to use certain things. It would only offer a variety of things that compliment certain play styles.

    Example perks: (Just ideas, not in any way balanced yet)

    Flyboy
    - You have an Aerospace resource max of 1000.

    Gearhead
    - You have a vehicle resource max of 1000.

    To the MAX
    - All MAX units cost 10% less to requisition for you.

    Scavenger
    - Your resource benefit from being in a specific region is increased.

    Gun Nut
    - Cert Costs for upgrading infantry weapons are lower, but cert costs for upgrading vehicle weapons are higher.

    Die Hard
    - You always have slow health regeneration

    Nomad
    - Your deploy cooldown is 5 minutes lower.

    Drop Specialist
    - You have more control over your drop pod.

    Shank you
    - You get an additional +100XP for melee kills.

    Defender
    - You get an additional +50XP for kills with a base turret.

    Firefighter
    - You get an additional +100 XP when you repair a vehicle out of it's burning state. (Subject to the same rules as other repair XP)

    The Kitchen Sink
    - Grenades you throw have a 1 in 1000 chance to be a deadly kitchen sink.


    You would gain a perk with let's say every 2000 certs you gain, to a maximum of 5 perks. After that every time you earn another perk you get the option of replacing an existing one, or just leaving them be. That way you can still change them over time instead of being stuck with them, but it's still a choice you have to make that excludes other options, so not everyone can be the same in this area.

    I wish they still had the Implant system of PS1.
