On Windows 8 there is a problem with PS2 that resides in the USB part of your system. Whereas it be Mouse, Keyboard, Headphones...etc. I'm not sure how to fix it, but a few people have it in this section of the forums.

Fault Module NameINPUT8.dll That is definitely something to do with USB. Unhook any gaming controllers that may be plugged in.
