[Suggestion] Mass AI modes?

    AI modes like defend a base against swarms like Starship troopers? Maybe with all the factions working together as one would be cool. Another mode could be like escorting a convoy or a VIP against attacks from swarms that come from space, underground, or spawning outside a zone that players cannot go to to see that come in and try to attack. Again, all factions working together collectively. Because this could get heavily overloaded there should be multiple continents like this so if it gets full in queue people can join another but the spawn rate and difficulty should be based upon how many people are in the world than just to have it fixed irregardless of player count. Perhaps the devs could be running as director then gradually turn into full AI director.

    Probably could require new equipments, supply drops, and assets to be used that aren't developed today or thought of prior to this post. It could add a cool new dimension to the game.

    Could have other modes that have it where swarms + faction vs faction vs faction but it could get too crazy in a bad way. Maybe way after this has been fully matured in development release.

    To prevent PCs from going down to 3 fps, have NPC bodies evaporate or disappear after a short period. Would definitely be cool to survive waves or gradually send in big bosses where people can work together to stay alive and get rewards. Just not make it too difficult where it's nothing but frustration. Also don't want to do a defend mode with just 5 people but more like 150 would be cool. Make the scripting interesting, enjoyable, and suspenseful, preferably dramatic. NPCs that can heal and move together. Something where teammates can synergize where they are accomplishing something together rather than just shooting and killing NPCs mindlessly in repetition. If anyone remembers the game called World in Conflict, it can get pretty dramatic in that. Perhaps add some cool music too. Maybe make it where a ship comes in to extract some people while we all defend. Many ways to make it cool than just to have it one way and nothing else.

    Yes totally, then put it on the battle island(tm) where those who wish to play this can be concentrated!

    The question as always: how?

    AI is one f the toughest parts of building any game. PS2 isnt build for it and the engine would likely need to be eviserated and rebuild just to allow small-scale AI. Just look at how well Spitfires and PMB turrets work even though they dont even have to move.

    Its impossible for PS2, let it go.

    I would've preferred the OP's idea instead of the game's current direction.

    Somehow the NSO's go bat sheet crazy and turn on everyone except NSO's. They become tanks and it takes 10 to 15 soldiers to bring them down. NSO's are few in numbers anyways compared to the might of all 3 factions banding together. It'll maybe help them sell subs also.
