Increased rear armor of MBTs

    After 6000h of playtime, over 1500hours in the Lib, ~16000kills with the Tankbuster, you DBG,
    have found something i can't just live with nor adept.

    I can't oneclip an MBT anymore.

    I just wanted to say thank you for the great times i had in this game. It was the best FPS out there and i praised it where- and whenever i can on reddit, youtube and among friends.
    I was in denial whenever i heard/read PS2 is dying because of decreasing player numbers. I knew, long term players like me wouldn't leave because of that. There had to be a major change to the gameplay. And while i was one of the few that liked most of the CAI changes, now something changed that takes away the purpose and fun i had in this game.
    But everything has to end it seems.

    Wow. Spending 5 years in a game was something special for me.
    Well, i will remember the good times i had.
    Best of luck DBG and to all the players who still find joy in this game.

    Word, take care man! Sorry you can't do that one thing out of a million in the sandbox and for some baffling reason cannot adapt. /eyeroll.

    I'm a Lib Pilot. I love flying my Lib and that's why i played Planetside.
    Man, i'd love to adapt if possible. I adapted to every change of the Lib until now.
    But Tankbusting got so nerfed by this. And i can't just wish me some more bullets for my magazine.
    It took 40 bullets (44 when slightly above) to kill a MBT. Now it's just impossible.
    And Tankbusting MBT is ~40% of Solo-Lib flying. Rest was 30%Lightnings, 20%Harrys and Sundies and 10% other Libs.
    I could've lived with the swivel function gone. Even now Ranger Harrys are an even bigger pain in the buttocks.

    But sneaking up on Armor, going so low you trigger Tank Mines, putting a full mag into an MBT, getting the double kill and afterburning away while the other MBTs, Lightnings and Sundy start shooting at you like you poked into a hornets nest. Getting away with 5-10% health and landing the burning Lib, repairing it, and planning the next approach. Man, that's what got my adrenaline up.

    So this is not just a goodbye thread. It's a statement about the balancing.
    It was meant to improve the ground vs ground fights. But it destroyed some other aspect of the game.

    EDIT: I'd have liked to EDIT my first post to make it more about the Armor and the result for Libs.
    But i can't edit it anymore for some reason. -_-

    Sooooo you can't Dump clip and let your belly finish? OHHHHH Wait I see, you're trying to take a aircraft balanced around a team of 3 and operate it as a solo pilot and mad you don't have the power one clip something and give it little to no chance to react.

    Fly with a crew in the lib as its intended and watch it become devastating, not the games fault for you using a weapon platform in an unintended manner.

    It was fine for 5 years.
    No one complained.
    The armor increase was meant to improve the Ground vs Ground fight. But now the TB got another (indirect) nerf.
    Now the only targets that may result in some kills are Harrys and Lightnings. MBT and Sundy crews will just jump out before the explosion. Some Lib kills here and there. But Libs became rare and there is still safe fall.

    So a big source for kills just got stolen.
    And the Lib became a Taxi even more.

    Congrats for sticking to it for this long. I gave up on the lib around when the swivel got forced on tb along with most everything else that isn't infantry play.

    Can't you start your run like 50m sooner and slip a reload before the finisher in there?

    What world you in?

    A 1-man Liberator with a built-in Booster, flies in.
    2-Man MBTs equally priced, Can do nothing but die to a 1-man Lib.

    Same MBT if Solo, can die to a lighting.
    A solo Liberator? Mauling 2-man 450 Nanite tanks, with only 1 of 3 of their guns.

    A Liberator being rare, is a grand thing.
    As it's death for anything, not in a Blob of Anti-Air fire.

    I wrote in a earlier post that Liberators are the most op vehicle in the game - even right now. How can you complain when it's the most bang for nanite by eons? Liberators should have no afterburners and should be slower than valks, but nope.

    I had a whole reason why you have no right to complain but then I realized that it would be wasted on someone who only wants to see responses to the tune of "you are 100% right". So I'll just keep it at this.

    Good riddance and I sincerely hope the door crushes your foot on the way out.

    Air keeps getting nerfed.

    Its ok for tanks to sit on hills getting 40, 50, even more killstreaks on infantry.

    But if someone like you kills THEM. OMG it MUST be nerfed.

    On the other hand we just got a cool new weapon for ESF that is kinda fun. Maybe give that a try.

    Or you could get a gunner. The lib is supposed to be a 3 man vehicle.

    As it is there is hardly any air. I fly A2A ESF and i fly all over the map studiously avoiding battles lest i die in half a second to 11 flak sources and invisible heavies with locks, and the fights are few and far between.

    Seems a bit contrary to add a new ESF gun while at the same time making it rather obvious that air is not part of the game.

    The tank actually has travel time, their counterplay doesn't require the dedicated specialist-weaponry that renders you nearly unarmed to everything else, and the time to react is greatly more.

    AV is everywhere, doesn't cripple you, has numerous tricks.
    And if you kill the tank; It doesn't arrive inside 12 seconds, from half across the map.
    It also doesn't as easily appear 7 hexes into friendly territory, Nor can it invalidate cover.

    Vehicles; We have walls against them for Infantry.
    The Anti-vehicle weapons, don't feel like ***, allow skillful use compared to locks \ Flak.
    They work reliably against vehicles, and can kill.
    Skillful use is rewarded for AV weapons.
    These weapons are also able to do AI relatively well, making the vehicle not screwed if there isn't a vehicle to attack.

    Aircraft;
    Dedicated-Weapons have severe issues engaging anything else, and the grand number require nanites.
    For something, that also has no ability to fight practically, the moment Air is scarred off.
    So 450 nanites, 200 nanites, 350 nanites, And the moment you spawn it, Air can escape, If you are still alive:
    You are now driving or operating a vehicle that will be nearly unarmed TO INFANTRY.

    This sums up why, Being attacked by a Tank, isn't as bad as the ESF.
    You can actually reliably fight the Tank, you can also actually kill it without them needing dozens of mistakes to have a prayer.
    You also have cover that works, that isn't solid-buildings: As that isn't gonna happen in practical combat.
    Spawn rooms have open-air, most paths are open.

    Actually, there's typically been a significant number of complaints around Liberators being able to one-clip an MBT from behind using the Tank Buster over the years.
    The Liberator is not a taxi. While it has decent health, it's too cumbersome and much too sluggish for proper transport duty. The Liberator is a multi-crew bombing unit.
