Or, maybe we could just decide based on the merit of what people post.

Some of the best Designers/Coaches/etc. aren't the best players. And some of the best players do not make good Designers/Coaches/etc.

    So found this in query.

Welp I would like to officially state that we don't push the outdated mantra that "you must have an about 20.0 or something to be called good."

    Unofficially:

Working for a career character that has that kind of stat history, checking out the KS, all the other stats, and then watching the dude in game would probably lead you to the observation that the said player is extremely defensive, hangs back, and basically pads. Which is enhanced when he/she is playing with similar play-styles, or farming a zerg that isn't actually trying to kill said player but play the game in a very basic sense. ie "shoot things that aren't your color most the time."

We train, promote a positive environment, do competitive events, 1v1s, and share as much as we can to each-other. As a group we know that individuals must be competent and skilled, but the squad as a whole must be a deadly weapon. As a leader I push squad play. And I promote attending training sessions, practicing with good players, and finding how to best better yourself while having fun. There are no forceful hands. We don't accept negativity, or elitism. We let our actions as individuals and as a group speak for us. As anyone on Connery NC or VS that has been there for a while.

Side note: other 'heavy' outfits are slowly shrinking, or stagnating. But because of our belief in the growth of a player and his level of play over time, if he has the ability, resources, and experience to draw from, he will 'git gud.' By playing, and appreciating the game, rather than farming for kills and getting upset when he is 'cheesed' or not running a 120 KPH minimum. You will get some rounded stats from this. But looking at numbers on a screen vs seeing what that player is actually doing, and their play-style and skills in game is a completely different thing. Everyone in Sol Ex on TR know they will pay statistically for the level of squad play we push ourselves to.

And the KDR you are pointing out? Sugar and Rein are very, very defensive players. They play for the kills only, 99% of the time they aren't even with the squad.

2-3 KDRs with 12 guys working together? Do the math. And that's just one life, that's not the whole fight in a particular HEX. We don't accept people with a 1.5 SUB dasanfall KDR, because that is the absolute minimum amount of effect we expect someone to have right on point, facing the enemy no less than 10 meters away. Our stats are built on squad play, objectives, and right in the middle of the fight.

There is no hanging back, running away as soon as one or two rounds hit you. This isn't a pad-fit like FCRW or the 00 of old, or the other statistically heavy outfits on other servers that focus on just stats. We pay for bad calls, we drop into **** fights not defending a tower. We don't just run around and farm all day, jumping from fight to fight for a few kills. On occasion we will kill ourselves to blow up a sundie instead of farming it for kills. We go fight to fight looking for challenging players to kill, or another competent squad to counter.

We play planetside. And we are good enough to play Farmers competitively. You don't join Sol Ex for stats (but you are expect to look at them, and improve on your Live play if possible). Being a good gun is nice; yes it enhanced our overall effectiveness. But working with your team and being able to pull your own weight in 3-1 odds is much more important than a KDR developed on pad play.

Another thread is arisen from the grave by the forum Combat Medics. Just in time for Halloween, though. The forum sure will be crawling with zombified threads by the 30th...
