Population Needs Addressing

But the game needs to sell, and games that sell are games where everyone wins, where kills are easy. The time period where one had to be "good" at a game to have fun has ended cause of the newer generation of gamers. Now whether you THINK it should be that way or not, IT IS. So the PS2 team needs to make more skill gap compression.

Also, the reason most MMO's are still around is cause they appeal to instant gratification generation as well. Remember when WoW lost all of its players? Remember the fix? Instant Level 90 Players for anyone who buys their game.

Is that why you are BR20? Your mind is going to be blown when you figure out what sort of xp the people who gets zerged are getting.

    Go play COD.

    Or battlefield.

Only so many games can be made that way and sell... Remember Homefront? It tried to take on BF and failed, miserably. It was just as accessible and easy... easier even!

But they failed to do it better than BF and flopped on their face. Remember Frontline? Same. THere are dozens more.

The surest path to failure is to attempt to do something the same as another but not better.

I fear for the future of humanity if this weak, pathetic, instant graitifcation sheep minded uselessness is our future generation.

No, Pandaria had an Instant Lvl 90 character Boost because grinding a new character takes a long time without any boost. Some people keep doing it with no boost, just for pleasure. Boosts have been introduced in order to call new customers. And to make an average content new expansion look a bit more "sexier" than it was.
Blizzard then realised a new expansion with harder content in order to bring back customers.
Wow Core customers were waiting for higher skill cap content. WoW lost customers because of a lack of high cap content and gameplay.

You're asking for low skill cap games only ( you usally call games as "products") .

"Instant gratification" (Do you really need any "Instant gratification" while playing any random FPS ? I don't remember that CS ever needed any "Instant gratification". ) is an in game PS2 value. When you perform any action, when you gain Certs, when you unlock a higher BR, when you unlock any weapon or equipment.

everyone join vanu until devs have nothing no choice but to buff tr and nc

    yes i said it.

This does do it better. This (should be) CoD with thousands of players at once.

Why don't you go play COD on smaller maps instead of crying since 10 days here ? COD looks to be so fabulous to you.
  8. Ronin Oni

You have no idea how trash that would be.

I wouldn't touch it with a 10ft pole, and neither would CoD players.

That would be crap. Complete crap.

NS Black Ops.... where are you?

So back to the original topic, population balance needs addressing.

There are suggestions about instant levels, about balancing weapons/vehicles across factions, et. but back to the point.

50% population by one faction, 23% by another and the third is 12% (which doesn't even make 100%) and these numbers are consistent day to day but not by faction. On Connery where I play typically what I screenshot most often are the TR have the mornings, NC the afternoons and the VS the evenings.

Often if you look at another continent the numbers are reversed and the lowest faction has the highest population but the total numbers for the server show fights 1-12 on the map. Even if all those players came to the highly unbalanced population continent it wouldn't alter the total percentage that much.

When alerts happen population gets queued and an algorithm attempts to balance population by continent but not by hex. Once players get on continent the draw is to join the zerg(s) aka Continent population vs. Hex population.

Should Hex's allow teleportation at all if already exceeding some threshold?

Should newly joining players be required to find transport to join the zerg? What ideas do you have?
    - Perhaps ANT vehicles instead of just turret towers could block teleportation to Hexes.

If a continent is under alert, should anything on the HUD (Map) even show to players not on the continent?
    - Perhaps ANT vehicles instead of just turret towers could block all communications and make the HUD useless.

    Ideas?

the 3rd faction would have 27, not 12.

Pop %'s ALWAYS add up to 100, that's why they're PERCENTS.

Anyways, I already outlined the correct course of action to take.

Reward playing underpop with more significant XP bonus.

Stack with playing against factions with more pop, this would encourage 2 outpopped factions to double team larger faction for glorious XP

Change cap XP rewards so that it scales with how much fighting goes on during a cap.... eg; zergs get nothing for spawn camping because there was no XP gain during the "fight"

Properly COMMUNICATE all these changes to players so they finally understand how the frack to get CERTSSSSS

Complete the once "WishList" item "Black Ops" to encourage players on overpop faction to hop to underpopped factions to gain the XP bonus on their main character.

You can do amazing things with guiding player behavior by simply changing what's rewarding and what is not rewarding to do.

Reward people for zerging bases, and they will continue to do it miondlessly (even if they get pathetically low SPM for it like our new COD buddy friend polluting the forums)
