Yes, and it is, and for that other guy, I am running win8 64bit.

Windows 8.0 is no longer supported. And do not gaming in accu mode.
E.g. use power cable and full power settings in windows and driver.

Try updating visual c++ libraries. It worked with my issue, however I think there might be several problems with the patches this week.

I was having horrible 'hitching' as of some weeks ago. I decided "what the hell, let's try this 32 bit version". I followed the directions, deleted the x64, renamed the x86 to x64, launched the game and binged for like 6 hours. Ever since then, though, I've been crashing every hour or faster. =-\ So much for having found a perfect solution to my problem...
