Do you think population will suffer because of this patch?

    We might as well get rid of resources entirely now since it's nothing more than a minor hindrance where it could have been so much more. A perfect starting point to make vehicles, MAXs etc. actually feel like a gamechanging bonus for your faction and to make acquiring these feel like an actual achievement instead of being something that is just there. Now we're stuck with a huge deathmatch where the only meta game is finding a tool that suits you best to farm as many opposing players as possible until you've certed everything out and you're bored to death. Might be interesting initially, but you are going to see how shallow the game is faster than ever.

    Sure beyond that there's outfit play which offers a far more interesting meta game. But every game is fun when playing with friends. The trick is to make a game that is addictive and fun when you're playing it for yourself as well, which is especially needed when it comes to games like Planetside 2 which live off of their players (not only money wise). The outfits won't be able to keep the game alive by themselves in the long run. We need a more interesting game for everyone. And I'm really hoping that, once the resource revamp has been completed, this is going to be the case.

    The resource revamp is a disaster, everyone is spamming Libs all over again, MAX spam is out of control, tanks are shelling spawn rooms even more than before.

    This game has turned into an epic cheese-farm-fest.

    Disagree with pretty much all of that post.
    Spawnroom warriors are the same, they will never be reduced unless the shield is removed.
    Ive seen less spawn camping than before the patch. Libs are easy to get rid of now, pretty sure you just threw that one in there for effect, you cant seriously think they can camp spawns effectively now?

    Agree on the frequency of alerts, but i think its a good thing, they always seemed to pop up right when i had a decent fight going and completely ruin it. Would be nice to see 1 tho at some point, ive yet to see one since patch.

    I always thought it was strange that the empire with the longest supply lines (most territory), and operated furthest from their warpgate got the most resources. This means a camped empire still has a chance to pull vehicles / consumables and fight a fiar fight. Reduces warpgate camping.

    Your next point is a point of view, your opinion, and is contrary to my experience so far.

    I think the resource system is more new player friendly since it allows chain pulling of vehicles and enables newbies to get more practice. The point you make about not having certed vehicles was the same before the patch, again i think you threw this in for effect. If i was a new player and saw 50 players stuck in a spawn while 50 shelled them, id leave the area knowing the fight is over. This game isnt the crypton factor, it has a map showing hotspots, enemy populations, ally populations, base hack timers. It has a a tutorial (not the greatest), it even has a 'dont like the fight, be at another in 15 seconds' button. Its certainly alot more new player friendly than some of the RPG games ive played.

    So you think that in a month we will see another 25% drop, ok so whats the lottery numbers going to be tonight?

    Whenever theres a patch i see the same thing, a claim that it will kill the game within a month, we saw it with GU01, and guess what - they were all wrong, as are you.

    Ive not seen this at all, what server?
    Libs die easy now, 1 rocket will make it run for reps, 1 member of our squad was able to defend againt multiple libs and esfs with a single dual burster max. I speculate its a failure to react to the given situation thats the problem.

    Didn't notice Libs dying easy, they are eating two G2A Walker mags, flying off to repair, coming back to cheese-farm easy targets.

    If a Lib goes down, the pilot always has enough resource to pull another one immediately.

    And for good reason, SOE would surely forget to make this feature disable-able for people allergic to peanuts, candies or vomiting monitors.

    Why would they leave room? To run from poorly placed spawnroom to 10 super-rigid sunderers, deployed in tactically advantageous places around base?

    Worked for me. Maybe you just did it wrong?

    That silly mentality is based on desire to get some fun in casual game. Playing hero without consequences is fun. Working hard for some meaningless goal, like capturing useless base, is way dumber.

    OR people could actually find the game more fun, given that death means quite nothing now with the new quick respawn, all those new deployed sundies around the world and all those resources everyone has.

    I would not be so sure about the future of this game, especially if devs keep this rhythm of good, long-term goal focused updates.

    I get the feeling you do not play on Emerald.

    - I think spawnroom warriors will be reduced when they aren't being camped any more. I could be wrong.

    - I agree alerts can ruin a good fight, I used to hate them. But now I play on Emerald and alerts do not matter any more. There is always a large fight happening on multiple continents.

    - A lot of the time you can't spawn at a different fight. Obviously the trick is to join a squad, spawn at their location and leave the squad again. New players do not know this.

    - Those people were partially right. This game has lost 25% of it's population in one year. This game has 10 thousand daily peak players. (that's less then Left4Dead 2 and Warthunder, that's not good for the ONLY mmofps out there which is free to boot)

    I noticed a **** ton low br players. Some of them were pretty good as well so I assumed Woodman guys started a char on the server to look around before the merge.
    My problem is since the patch my fps dropped to 15 in any fight above 60 total.

    Miller has become Indarside because Indar is perfect for vehicle battles, a lot more open grounds than on those narrow paths on Hossin for example. The other continents were locked as well so easy choice.

    I've been seeing a lot of low level BR's at emerald to these last two weeks.
    Some of them are new but also a big chunk of them seem to be alts.

    Yes they do, but that same pilot cant also chain pull maxs, c4, tanks, sundys. He (or she) has chosen to pilot the lib, and has spent a large portion of their single resource to do it. They havent stock piled infantry consumables so they can play infantry side without consequence straight after using all their resources on vehicles.

    Before patch scenario: your fighting a good infantry fight for a base, your in a Max youve just pulled but your team is beggining to get pushed back to spawns, your Max dies wasting your inf resources since you only got 1 kill and lasted 30 secs, so you fall back:
    • Pull an AI MBT to reinforce (450 tank res)
    • Drive towards base and die to enemy AV MBT
    • Pull lib to kill said MBT (300[?] air res)
    • Die to flak but eject just before as LA (you never expected to last long in the lib and didnt want to bother reping it)
    • C4 a tank below you (200 inf res) then die
    • Pull AV lightning (300 tank res)
    • Die to their tanks after taking out a few
    • Pull reaver (200[?] air res)
    All this in the space of a couple of mins. Thats alot of power for 1 person to wield.

    New system:
    • Pull MBT (450 res)
    • Die in less than 3 mins
    • O ****, i cant get another MBT, ill get a lightning instead (300 res)
    • Thats it, job done, if that dies thers no max, no c4, certainly no air to pull, your stuck playing infantry only for the next 15 mins and cant do anything to reduce that (besides membership).
    New system gives a meaning to destroying enemy vehicles, and it gives some specialisation to the game, i only drove tanks yesterday, couldnt afford a suicide lib run to remove that pesky gal hover spamming. Guess what i did? Called for help from other players, shocking i know but the airforce did arrive to reinforce a few mins later.

    This game isnt about 1 persons experience being camped in the spawns, its about teams of players (no necessarily in squads, could be randoms) working together to achieve an ultimate goal. The chat either voice of typed is a valuable resource that is overlooked by 90% of the playerbase. Work as a team and youll find it alot easier to achieve your goals.

    EDIT: Cheese farming only happens when they have something to farm......

    Emerald is hailed as 'the biggest server', people who joined this game for what it is about - the massive fights, will have made a char to experience this again. Some of them will be from low pop servers, others will just hear the hype and want some of it. Same thing happened in PS1 before the devs finaly merged all servers, everyone had already made alternate accounts on the 'big' server.

    So, SOE creates a first person shooter which has a perfect foundation for spawn camping. People do it, because it's there. It's part of the designed game, but when one complains about the boring camp fest then we ought to point the finger at the fellow players rather than the company who has actually designed the foundation. Logic? Anyone?

    This is a problem why exactly? Its not like they can spawn camp with all the enemy vehicles out there, even attempting to pull anything other than AP/AV will get you rolled in a seconds, lol.

    I've also not noticed lib dominance on Emerald at all, i've seen tons of ESF from all sides attacking anything in the air.

    I think this is one of the best patches ever made, for PS2.
    1. A newbie, who like to fly... could spawn a mossie all 20 minutes before, now he can spawn non stop
    2. Same to ALL players who are DEDICADET to ONE class/vehicle
    3. The new derictives reward every playstyle

    The only problem i see right now is, that a member or ressource boost user gets way to much ressources, so they should remove this bonus.

    For the other stuff, i would say WAIT for the next SOE update, WAIT WAIT WAIT. Because i think SOE have a plan and for me the direction looks right.

    Scenario: your getting farmed and 'spawn camped'
    Choices:
    1. keep running out the same doorway, getting killed by the same lib / tank / troop / max thats camping the spawns. (yes its not just vehicles, look at esamir, whole platoons of troops camp spawns)
    2. redeploy to the next base and either set up defense i.e mines, or roll your own vehicles to counter theirs.
    If the players constantly shoose option 1, its not the game designers fault.
    I will defo agree the bases could be better designed to prevent this, but allowing oneself to be farmed continuously is not the devs fault, its a concious choice.

    The problem is that farmers can now keep pulling their fav farm machines all the time and their fav farm machines are more expendable than ever before.
