The laser from laser sights have nothing to do with the upgrade they give, its purely cosmetic. The laser sight (and advanced laser sight) tightens your COF (cone of fire) during hipfire. If the off center beam distracts you, you can turn it off, with no ill effect, with "L".
Yep I know thanks. Still the animation/cosmetic or wherever is called is incorrect, I thought Ill just throw that out there, SOE can put it at the end of the list
