[Nvidia cards only!] Here's a way to boost your ingame FPS.

Trying to make this as brief as possible:

    * Used to run at 5 ~ 10 FPS at biolabs using the same graphic settings. Here's now.

    - Download NVidia inspector.
    - Run and edit your video card config.
    - Go for the global preset and change EVERYTHING to off/disable
    - Use the half-life 2 preset for texture quality, ambient occlusion, etc
    - Apply settings.

So, yep. That's it. Feel free to test and share your results.

-EDIT- Here's my current graphic settings, just in case: here, here and here.

    Damn you nvidia card users

Were you [CPU] or [GPU] limited when you had 5-10 FPS?

Did it, going to play and test the results shortly.

I play with everything on low or off. Just tried it out, I'm getting 70+ FPS in open territory and 30-45 in heated battles. That's a good 10-15 FPS boost from my normal.
  6. Bolticus

Going to ask you as well. :D
Were you [CPU] or [GPU] limited in "heated" battles?
  7. Messaiga

Excuse me, but what Nvidia cards does this support? I have an Nvidia 9800 GTX+ but I am afraid that it will be too old to be compatible.

I believe any card under the sun would be a fair assumption. Thus said, no amount of tweaking will save you if your card is too old.

Before my FPS was 20-50 on lowest settings
Now it's a steady 30 FPS on model quality High with everything else lowest
I'd rather have a steady FPS than a crazy FPS anyday

    DAMN IT
Were you [CPU] or [GPU] limited before?

    same boat as you bro

Has this messed up your other games?

If I have GTX 560 Ti, do I need to do it? I play on max settings, I never checked my fps (btw, how do you check that?).

rofl you might want to ask another 5 or 6 times i think. Its only reasonable :D

You press Alt + F while in game (In addition it will do what those 2 buttons normally do, so after you do that press F again to turn off your special ability, and then press alt again to gain mouse control).

Just tried it on my 9500 GT.
    Got a reasonable boost.
    Go for it.
  17. Sephuku

Don't tell me you locked your frames to 30 FPS on the Nvidia Inspector.
  18. ih8Darian2

    I'm not an idiot.
  19. Chipay

Textures looked weird and no noticable fps increase (also caused screen tearing)

Did anyone hear that? I swear I... Never mind. Must be my imagination.
