Which one of these laptops would be best for running ps2 and any other suggestions for gaming laptops in the $1000 range? http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/y-series/y510p/ http://m.bestbuy.com/m/e/product/de...cw1tACjrhn8I8CZ5jAbhY772IPX&pid=1218954926513 http://www.dell.com/us/p/alienware-14/fs http://www.amazon.com/G55VW-ES71-15-6-Inch-Gaming-Notebook-Black/dp/B007Z9WWDW http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&ke...vptwo=&hvqmt=b&hvdev=c&ref=pd_sl_7cq4f18rze_b
1. Lenovo option will do fine, the second one for under 1k is a solid deal. 2. ASUS option from BestScam is atrocious. 3. Alienware is a waste of my time to even comment on. 4. Only the used ones seem to be around 1k and I would never buy a used laptop. People don't take proper care of those things. 5. $300 more and not that much more effective than the Lenovo. I happen to have a Lenovo Ideapad Y400, pretty similar to your option 1. Specs in sig, that runs the game about as well as you can expect a laptop to do - i.e. okay at medium settings with shadows off. Heat becomes an issue as is to be expected with any i7 laptop. The touchpad is a bit peculiar on the Ideapads but not that difficult to get accustomed to and I tend to use a small wireless mouse all the time anyway.
http://www.xoticpc.com/custom-gaming-laptops-notebooks-gaming-laptops-ct-118_96_98.html hands down the best customer service in existence. I have a Sager/Clevo, it is fantastic. Just can't say enough good things about this site and the build quality/option/customizations. never buy a dell anything. period.
I have a laptop and I must say playing this on a laptop sucks. Unless you absolutely need a laptop, I strongly advise you to get a desktop pc.
Can I just ask will this one work? http://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers/dell/15-inch-notebook-sku-309857/
Which one of these laptops should I get for this game and any other suggestions 1. Asus G750JW- http://www.adorama.com/ASG750JWDB71.html 2. Lenovo Ideapad Y510p- http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/y-series/
Dual core low clock speed CPU and 4GB RAM with a DDR3 GPU? The game will run terribly on that. That's a HUGE ripoff. If you're in Australia, which I assume you are since you're using an Australian site, try these guys. www.jw.com.au and www.mln.com.au You would, of course, be better off with a desktop. I just configured my friend one off of PC case gear that's dirt cheap for what it is. http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=15_226&products_id=19763&zenid=cf43d53d2474d680b20f303812f18bc9 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=25_31&products_id=22707&zenid=cf43d53d2474d680b20f303812f18bc9 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=210_344&products_id=19747&zenid=cf43d53d2474d680b20f303812f18bc9 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=187_1184&products_id=20893&zenid=cf43d53d2474d680b20f303812f18bc9 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=138_1183&products_id=19859&zenid=cf43d53d2474d680b20f303812f18bc9 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193_1434&products_id=23575 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=375_974&products_id=17003 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=658_667&products_id=21346 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=558_1092&products_id=19358 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=113_999&products_id=19562 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=15_1120&products_id=19499 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=258_697_701&products_id=19237
it depends really. both have the same cpu so they will play planetside 2 the same. The ASUS will be better for other games, but its 17" while the other is 15". If you need portability, dont even think about 17". I would recommend this to you though. Just be sure to upgrade the processor alittle. http://www.xoticpc.com/forcemsi-16f3-22001-670m-msi-gt60-barebones-p-4346.html
Thats like saying you have a sports car and it sucks, but it only has a 4 cylinder in it. What? did all the laptops on earth suddenly all become identical?
No, but if you build yourself a PC for $1000, and put in something like a geforce gtx 760, an i5 or FX processor, and 8 GB RAM, your PC will most likely perform better than any laptop, and probably you can play Planetside at (almost) the highest settings. Why? Because laptops use mobile hardware, which has to be smaller, and use less energy -> is less powerful, and mostly even more expensive. If you want to play PS2 with the best possible settings, you are simply way better off with a desktop. A laptop would also run out of power in no time while playing this, only if you really need to be able to take your PC with you everywhere you should get a laptop, but that will certainly harm your gaming experience.

The settings is not the only thing people. Most laptops have screens up to 18 inch large...You can get a 24inch screen for as much as 300$ and that's LIGHT YEARS better than any 18inch.
