NC Bursters

    Just restrict ZOE+Lockdown+Aegis to be AI+AV only. So simple. Stops anyone having to piss about thinking of a fluffy way to provide the same obvious buff to NC that TR+VS are currently abusing. They said this is exactly what would be happening, but we've heard nothing since...

    thing is lockdown is better depending on weapon . at lvl1 it says 15% to 35% depending on weapon . i havent tried it on other max weapons but it feels like the Burster is getting the 35% increase at lvl 1 ... which is huge lol ... makes a difference between an esf getting away , and you burning him .

    AA Bursters, especially Double Bursters 9Which almost everyone uses) were very deadly and way too powerful before GU9. After the patch they just become ridiculously better for the TR and even VS. These things have been needed a nerf since 3-4 patches ago.

    Also what the heck happened to what the devs said that the "if AA MAX gets spotted, it will be shown on minimap like vehicles do" ??

    People are used to seeing Bursters as being identical across factions. They think the only point of contention is the balancing of Air and Ground.
    Unfortunately that changed with the last patch, and some people aren't quite up to speed on that yet.

    This thread is touching on the new MAX abilities. Bursters are no longer identical across factions. Please keep this in mind as a central point for this topic.

    Just remove verticals altogether please, people like the OP here won't be happy until hes playing a planetside version of CoD.

    Simple fix:

    Buffs from MAX abilities should not apply to NS weapons.

    It doesn't really make sense.

    For example, with TR, we can only assume that their weapons have built in linkages to the MAX's powerplant which allow their weapons to increase in rate of fire when locked down. For VS, we can only assume that VS energy weapons can be plugged into the overdrive module for extra power.

    But NS weapons? A Burster is a burster is a burster. Are we saying that TR and VS have bursters that are different some how to NC bursters? If so, why do we all pay the same cost for bursters which have widely varied functionality? Was the functionality already built into the NS bursters and the NC just haven't found a way to utilise it?

    It doesn't make sense. For the sake of balancing AA, and sticking with the lore of the game, the buffs associated with ZOE and lockdown should only apply to empire specific weapons, not NS weapons.

    Just imagine it in the future when they introduce those grenade launchers they've proposed, and flamethrowers - are VS and TR going to have their buffs applied to those weapons too?

    I'm aware that bursters are now asymmetric. That doesn't detract from the point that all of them, including the 'base' NC burster, are out of balance.

    Most pilots rarely get killed by them.

    Groups of Bursters work. But that's by design.

    They should just add "Doesn't work with flak weapons" at the end of the ZOE/Lockdown description and make it so. Shield is a joke vs aircrafts so NC won't have any advantage there.

    And yes, aa in general is too strong or to be more precise, air has become to weak for anything but niche roles.

    With the exception of the new MAX abilities, nothing has changed in the AA vs Air department for months.

    It's all in people's minds.

    AA cannot be "too strong" if it doesn't kill ESF's and Liberators. The design goal of the AA MAX is to be a deterrent. It's not killing air on it's own. So what exactly is it doing then?

    Sounds like it's working as intended to me.

    A single Dual Burster is not a killer. It's a deterrent, just like it should be. A group of Bursters? Now we're talking kills. That's teamwork and that is what makes a Planetside game different from all the other games out there.

    You don't like it? Stop lone wolfing in ESF's.

    That is the very crux of the problem though.

    Why should one faction have easy-mode airspace and the other two factions have hardcore-mode?

    As someone who's been trying everything he can to counter Air with HAWK, Phalanx Turrets, and TOMCATS, but is constantly being left in the dust by Bursters... I really have to Agree with this sentiment. The "Stackability" of Bursters is stupid. Give MAX's the same limited Rotation / Yaw that their flying targets have to put up with... then there will actually be situations where a whole Squad of Bursters will have to use their brains and pick different targets instead of just snapping instantly between whichever Craft is closest to them.

    (or Runaway / disable LockDown before they die to Counter-Shots from hostiles they can't just 180-noscope)
    ONE EXCEPTION just for the NC MAX though: While the new Phalanx shield is active, they can turn Faster...

    youve missed the point of my post . and youve jumped to the new mantra of these forums " he wants a planetside version of CoD" thats absolute BS . how you get here from me saying that the NC burster needs attention is beyond me .

    i even go so far as to explain in my thread that i exclusively play TR and have since i started playing , so i am not asking for a ezmode AABURSTERMAXLOL... I AM THE OP AND I DONT HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH THE "VERTICAL " .. in fact i enjoy the vertical . im against the new domes they may be putting in . in fact im against limiting this game in as many ways as it is . my post wasnt about nerfing or CoDitizeing PS2 it was about a balance issue, and only in regards to Burster maxes . why should i as TR get a 35% speed increase ( which will kill a ESF in alot of situations they would be able to escape from) and the NC get a shield that is only good in one or two situations ?

    looking at your stats page you dont have very much more kills than i do in mossie . you were so kind as to point out that my bugged stats page i hadnt seemed to have done much .. well for someone who sees himself as a mighty ESF specialist , you aint really got nothing to be proud of either my friend ....

    again the way you have been responding to me personally and the tone and content of your posts leads me to feel you are not a very nice person . and that you are not interested in any actual constructive critisism or discussion about PS2.

    you actually just want to point out peoples stats , as if your own were anything to be proud of , and parrot cool "OMGCOD" phrases , and if you stopped posting right now i doubt anyone would miss you .
