At a guess, servers are patched from SOE headquarters in the US, faster upload times to the nearer servers...
They aren't specifically locked. The other are only online for a few minutes yet. Have patience. (US servers are prioritized, obviously because all the devs are sitting in the US)
They haven't discovered the fiberoptics yet so they are shipping the bits and bytes with US mail service and so the server updates take time
Yeah and the Europeans haven't been waiting all the way through their primetime to play and it's not really 1pm in the USA during a work day???!!!
just goes to show how stupid they are the euro servers have more pop and so you could say they earn more money from euro servers than the US. But being soa they rather just forget euro
They are starting servers up one by one to not overload the login server's again. They have to start from somewhere. Handle it like a man. I'm on EU as well.
Yeah... its ******** really... But it seems that SOE only cares about the american customers... patching always gets placed in EU prime time, to favour US, and then theres ofc the ****** EU servers, cause SOE couldnt be bothered to run it themselfs...
My best guess: seeing as they locked down servers and are booting one by one to ease up on the load on the DB (see twitter), they try to spread stuff evenly. Since it's prime time here, opening up the least populated servers first gets them out of the way so the busy ones (read: EU ones) have more room to work with once up.
The problem is that the database need to push all the new unlocks to you when you log in, So when everyone in EU logged in at the same time the database crashed. Since it's prime time here in Europe they got the AU servers first and now the US. Right now they're bringing one EU server at a time up.
An intelligent post!!!! WOW guys, they do exist. They don't hate EU. Really guys you think that? Its an American based company, they work from an American time zone, not an EU one, chill it will all be ok.
The funniest reply, something about Pearl Harbor was deleted. Don't blame the poster, blame the owners of Sony.
