im deciding what SMG i want to buy, the AF-4 Cyclone or the Blitz GD-10. the Blitz seems to do better in everything accept reload speed, which is one thing i cant stand (long reloads) but sometimes stats are meaningless, so im asking you guys, in real combat situations, which SMG is better all around.
I have tried them both (unlocked the first trailed the second) I prefer the first at close range it feels like it kills faster. my opinion if you are accurate then the first one is better but if you want longer range and more spam I think the second. I would test them both with the 30 minute trial (if you can hold on to your certs for that long) just press BUY and press the blue trial button at the bottom.
The Cyclone is also two tiers higher in damage per bullet, 167 vs 125. I value accuracy and damage over rate of fire so the Cyclone is the obvious choice for me. Having used both I still prefer the Cyclone but the Blitz seems to be equally effective. They shine in different areas and cater to different play styles. If you can make your bullets count then go for the Cyclone, if you want a more direct combat weapon go with the Blitz.
i am trying to cloak and get up right next to people, so this makes me want to go with the Cyclone, if it seems to kill faster than the blitz
I love the cyclone it hits like a truck i have in on my alt for me it works better than my TR equivalents its a shame that most nc use the blitz and say the cyclone is under par.
I don't know if they fixed this... with the Blitz I never got the high damage indicator when landing headshots (the x with a circle around it). I think 125 dmg is too low to proc the indicator with bonus damage to the head. Anyway it's another thing I didn't like about the Blitz, I want to know when I get a headshot.
i am almost defiantly going for the Cyclone after what you guys are telling me. i love getting right next to enemies and lining up the headshot and taking them down in under a second
if you insist of not buying the awesome CQC bolt action go with cyclone, nothing more sad than seeing a inf jump before you trying to kill a HA, then dies before HA shield absorb is gone.
I used both and I have to stick to the cyclone.The higher damage is just great, it kills much faster. Especially for infiltrator id go with the cyclone and extended mags.As infiltrator you are not supposed to attack alot of target at the same time anyway, so you don't need 50 rounds. the Blitz is more of a spray type SMG. For quickly killing somebody before recloaking the cyclone is a much better choice. I use the Cyclone with Suppressor, IRNV, Extended Mags and soon Soft Point ammo. Works great even though my infiltrator isn't certed much
Just my opinion.. other people might feel different. The new SMG shoots way faster but the dmg is much lower. Also it has 50 bullet magazines (no extended mags possible as cert). With most classes this is my conclusion: This weapon is quite nice and another strong SMG. Advantages: Shoots fast and big mags allowing longer runtimes of combat Disadvantages: Long reloadtime, low damage The new Blitz SMG therefor in my opinion is good in: - When you run into big enemy groups and just want to take down as much as you can before dying yourself - Trying to run into big groups and want to take down as much as possible and try to get away - If you prefer hipfire ALOT over ADS and usually go for spray and pray when in my opinion cyclone is better: - 1v1 when you know where the enemy is or could be - close combat fights where the enemies are more likely to come on small groups with chance on hiding - Fighting groups/players by attacking in the back, not head-on Conclusion: Blitz is great for groupkills and face-to-face fights. Overall blitz is best when they either know where you are or expect you. Due to cyclone only needing 3-4 headshots its the better gun to use when they have no clue where you are. Cyclone has slightly less "optimal" situations compared to Blitz, but its better in the 1 situation im always in so overall seen Blitz is better for every class and every tactic EXCEPT for unexpected stealth infiltrators who know when to attack and when to hide
Yeah, for the NC the differences between the weapons are substantial enough, and specialised enough, that the 2nd wave SMG isn't a straight upgrade, but rather a playstyle choice. The VS weren't so lucky, and I've not figured out the TR yet.
Cyclone is better for an infiltrator. It has a faster TTK, and more damage AT ANY RANGE than the blitz, there is a quite noticeable difference in terms of killing power. Due to it's low clip capacity, an extended mag is basically mandatory, while the blitz, due to it's bigger mag size, can equip the laser sight, increasing its already high hip-fire accuracy. IMO, the since the hip-fire accuracy is already high, this is not a very useful attachment UNLESS YOU ARE LIGHT ASSAULT (high hip-fire accuracy while flying, infils don't fly so it isn't as useful. Damage output is VERY IMPORTANT for Infiltrator that's why the Cyclone is my Infil weapon of choice. TL;DR, Cyclone is better for infiltrator, Blitz is better for Light Assault.
I did some tests with the smgs to see which was better. The cyclone definately hits harder. At 30 meters it took 7 body shots to kill another inf while it took the blitz 10. At 25 meters it was 6 bullets to 9. At 20 it was 6 bullets to 8. so it was usually a 2 or 3 bullet difference. When you do the math though, without the extended mag, you can always kill more people with the blitz because it has twice as many bullets. With the extended mag the guns can kill pretty much equal numbers of people, but you wont get the double laser dot. The laser dot is amazing, it makes the reticle so small you will land every shot at 30 meters if you burst fire. For me in a real combat scenario if im reloading im probly gonna die, or im done killing and im hiding. I want to be able to kill the most people i can before reloading, so the blitz is by far a better gun. There are times when i go toe to toe with someone and we shoot each other in the face and i wish i had the cyclone for its higher damage but after switching back to it, i hated not being able to hipfire everything. As far as TTK goes, i read in another post that the difference was only .028 secs i think. The cyclone does more damage but the blitz has a much higher rof.
The Cyclone is amazing. I use it on both my Infiltrator and LA. The Blitz is too spammy, and has terrible damage. The Cyclone is very easy to control due to having a normal ROF combined with low recoil. This makes it very easy for me to score headshots. I use the suppressor, extended mag, and soft point ammo with the 2x reflex sight. Also, the short reload is very fast! Yesterday, I took down a fully healthed HA and Medic in a 2vs1 firefight (yes, they were BOTH shooting at me) with at least 5 bars health to spare. I would recommend that if you use this gun with a different class, you pull off the suppressor to increase your effective range.
Cyclone hits harder, and has better accuracy, and it needs it - you are going to want extended mags on the rail, full stop, so you won't get to use the laser sight. Blitz has a naturally larger mag, and while the damage and accuracy are worse, the RoF is much better and you can get both laser sights and advanced laser sights making the gun VERY accurate from hipfire. Both are good, but mostly dependent on playstyle.
alright, thanks guys. after trying both again, i purchased the Blitz first, because i use it on my light assualt a lot as well as infiltrator (more bang for the buck) but i loved it so much i gave in and made a stupid purchase, i bought the Cyclone as well to use just as my infiltrator. i recently bought the Piston though, so i dont use the Blitz on my light assault. very confusing lol i guess i wasted SC but i like all the guns i bought
