Alright so I deleted the UserOptions.ini, reloaded it and dumped really low settings in: [Rendering] GraphicsQuality=1 TextureQuality=1 ShadowQuality=0 RenderDistance=1800.000000 Gamma=0.000000 MaximumFPS=1000 UseLod0a=1 OverallQuality=1 LightingQuality=1 EffectsQuality=1 TerrainQuality=1 FloraQuality=0 ModelQuality=1 VerticalFOV=65 ParticleLOD=0 ParticleDistanceScale=0.650000 FogShadowsEnable=0 MotionBlur=0 VSync=0 [Terrain] RenderFlora=Off And then I changed: [General] AutoDetectPerformanceSettings=1 Reloaded the game, it reset most of my quality settings and WHAM not only do I have BETTER fps than before, but the graphics quality was actually slightly better than what I had it set at BEFORE the patch. Awesome.
this is not the graphics issues that everyone is talking about. But yes, Shadow Quality and Flora set to 0 can give 10-20 fps on some systems.
However, after I set the AutoDetectPerformanceSettings=1 on it changed all those settings back on, and a lot of the graphics settings back to 2 or 3. One odd thing I noticed that AutoDetect changed: OverallQuality=-1 hmm
No, it's not useless. But it's nothing special and such tweaks have been posted for weeks. It boosts your FPS slightly, but it doesn't fix the issues people are having after the last update. Like this one: http://forums.station.sony.com/ps2/index.php?threads/stuttering-while-more-fps-after-gu2.87646/
I've personally not seen another thread that suggest deleting, setting low, and then enabling that autodetect. And overallquality=-1?
overallquality=-1 means that your settings has been customised and they shouldn't be changed by the game anymore if you change this the game will again set the default settings overriding yours
