Going for monk in EQ II, as I did in EQ, I am wondering if what is the a monk playes in groups. Are they sought after as a tank, like a warrior would have been, or something else? I have not been able to get a clear answer on this. Perhaps it is just to early to tell, but I was just trying to get a better understanding of the class for the long run.
They are tanks, just like the other fighters in the group. Instead of reducing damage through armor and such, they focus more on dodging attacks instead. This makes them awesome when partied with shamans. Runes work wonders on monks as they tend to take less damage to begin with.
