What are avatars?

    Sorry this may sound like such a noob question but I have no idea.
    What do avatars in EQ2 mean please?

    Avatars are the gods of Norrath, a projection of them to be exact. They are contested monsters, with high end raid loot.

    If you are a new player you will need to spend a lot of time leveling before an avatar is ever something you need to be concerned about.
