After purchasing a guild hall on Varsoon, it quickly became apparent that they are super laggy. Even with no one else in the hall, and no furniture, there's a ton of latency. Even moving an item between bags takes a good 5-10 seconds. Specifically, this is the Marr Guild Hall on Varsoon which is a tier 4 Qeynos guild hall. No other zones act this way, so it seems to be a bug. It affects gameplay, since no one wants to be in the guild hall to use it as a HUB / crafting area. This is a persistent issue, and it has been like this since RoK launch, even during non-peak hours. This is affecting 100% of our guild members who live all over the USA and Europe.
Can confirm this. Takes quite a few seconds for the teleporter options even to come up. Was not like this on Kaladim. Please please look into this! Haven’t even started adding items yet.
After some more testing, it does seem the lag gets exponentially worst with more people in the zone. During raid hours, when we try to meet up and use banners, it can take 1 minute or more for the banner NPC to even render.
OK, I believe the culprit is the Guild Hall Advanced Writ Agent and how it currently checks characters in the zone to determine if the available quest icon should show, etc. We're looking into fixing it, but you can boot this guy out of your GH for now if it becomes an issue and see if the lag goes away.
Hi Bunji! Just wanted to let you know that after dismissing the writ agent the lag in Marr's guild hall seems to have disappeared. We had 20-odd characters before tonight's raid and everything seemed smooth. We do have a few members who would like the amenity back, so please keep us updated (even if it's in the patch notes).
