Tome of Destiny-Chapter III - The GM Event

I found this on the EQ1 forums while browsing yesterday. It's a retelling of the third chapter of the Tome of Destiny as if it were a GM event in EQ1. Fast forward to the moment when Diaku start teleporting in.

Several Diaku immediately rushed into the west wing, trying to cut off the way to the stone pedestal with a book on it, but before they reached it, a robed figure materialized in front of it. Diaku registered the sharp elven features beneath a shock of white hair, and a curious-looking staff surmounted with a hypnotically pulsing eye. A few of them rushed forward to cut down the arrival, but their blades slid harmlessly off the energy field that instantly winked into existance around the elf.

-This is interesting - quipped the enchanter, and snapped his fingers. A wave of brilliant color flashed forward, blinding and paralyzing the Diaku. In the commotion, a few adventurers slipped by, touched the book and were gone. Enchanter looked into the eyes of a Diaku captain, and gestured fluidly. The massive fighter spinned around to face his soldiers, his eyes gone blank and expresionless. Then, with a meaty crunch, he buried his axe in the face of the nearest of his soldiers....

Not yet aware of what went on in west wing, and emboldened by lack of resistance so far, servants of Solusek started hauling Dresolik through the portal.

The business in Plane of Knowledge was as usual. People looking to get buffed, people looking to sell buffs, both banks crowded, sounds of hammer on anvil from armory, when sudden shouts ripped through the air:

GM Event in Nexus!!! Looks like Tactics and Sol Ro are in it too!!!

Even before the Diaku snapped out of the trance, the air in front of the book pedestal degan to shimmer, and the passage became a milling mass of people, all rushing towards the Nexus center. The first one, a hulking Barbarian with twin flaming swords, spat derisively: Bah, greens! - and decapitated two Diaku in a single swing...

Back in Drunder, Rallos Zek paced up and down his room nervously. Entire regiment of Diaku went through the portal, yet no word came back yet weather destruction of Nexus succeeded. This did not bode well. He wondered if it was maybe not too late to adhere to Quellious's plan.

The sound of his chamber door crashing unceremoniously open behind him, caused the Warlord to spin around. Twenty or so figures stood in the shadow of the portal. They marched in without a word, faces scowling drawn weapons gleaming. Rallos Zek recognized their guild badges and went pale.

His last thought was: What a disgrace. They sent a RANGER to tank me...”
