-You don't have to grind 1-10. Do the Tradeskill tutorial in cities to get to 10 with ease.

-You don't have to grind out from 9 to 10 or 19 to 20. Talk to the tradeskill trainer to pick your new craft at lvl 9 and 19 to auto ding 10 and 20.

-Harvest everything! Sell what you don't use.

Actually in my experience the tutorial in the cities does not actually get you to 10 on TLE. I got to 7 before getting the tunic. That includes doing the quest for the harvest box and charm item. I made myself gear to get to 9 then dinged 10 by chatting with the trainer.

-My tip though is that the New Halas crafting quests are still in. And despite the fact some of the items are hard to make when you start the quest, attempting to make the item and failing still gives decent xp.

-When harvesting, as earlier stated, harvest everything. Clear-cutting when you are harvesting allows a chance for all the nodes to get replaced. In the older zones we have, all nodes but fish share a spawn and if you pick only the one you want, sooner or later you are not going to have any more of those nodes to harvest from as they will have all been replaced by other ones (often shrubs, shrubs as far as the eye can see!).

    Safe Harvesting Areas:
T1: most T1 zones have huge swaths of non-agro creatures.
T2: areas close to each major city.
T3: Thundering Stepps: The centaur area is safe-ish until you kill a centaur. Watch out for lions and the rare named elemental.
T4: Enchanted Lands: The fairy island along the shore from the docks, has like 2 static hostile fairies. Zek: if you can manage to get to it the Greenhoods camp is safe.
T5: Rivervale: just the area around the Fool's Gold tavern. Fearrot: The area along the shore and between the shore and the Wizard Spire are fairly safe. Lavastorm: a small strip of the shore and the first goblin area are safe. Everfrost: not safe.

If you can access the Angler's raid instance in Thundering Stepps there are some T3 harvest nodes in there. As long as you don't trigger the raid encounter you should be able to quickly harvest and leave without locking the instance.

For t3 there is also the back area of TS near Coldwind Cove. Also a lot of centaurs though, so if you've killed centaurs, you will have to fight even there.
In Nektulos for t3 don't forget nodes can spawn up on the ridges too now and some of those are fairly safe harvesting areas, though a lot less open than TS.

The path from the shore to the first open area is safe. Just the wolves at the very end of that path are aggro. A lot of that zone is quite safe as long as you watch for wandering mobs. It's a heck of a lot safer than Lavastorm, that's for sure.

Swimming from the docks to the shore isn't safe. >_<

It's still easily doable at level 1...if you haven't dinged 2 via exploration by then, that is.

If you can kill level 15/16? linked mobs harvest T3 in Zarvon Tower in Commonlands.
You can zone in and out as many times as you like, there is no lockout.

If you are unable to kill the mobs, there is still enough to harvest without having to worry about killing them, it will just take longer.

To get to CL from Qeynos.
    Go to Antonica.
Take the Griffon to Thundering Steppes.
    Go to TS dock.
Take the Globe to Nek Forest.
Stay on the path and follow it to the CL exit.

Zarvon tower is very close to where you'll zone in. There is a few mobs around the tower but they are easily avoided by either watching their pathing or using invis/stealth. There is a few skellies in the tower but if you zip up the steps and click the zone in rock you'll be fine.

There is also a collection from a book you can pick up in the tower. I can't remember what it's called but it's on a table and has the word Fauna in the title. All pages are harvested in the zone, and tower.

TLE Tip: Buy the harvesting depot, put it in your house on friend full access and tell your guildmates they can use what they need, but please donate to it as well. Add them as they request use. Every few days send out a mail message to those on your friendslist and give them harvesting tips and let them know what materials are low.

For every hour you craft, you should be spending the same amount of time harvesting. You likely will not get the nodes you want in abundance, but harvest everything in sight anyway. Most people donate much more than they take, because a large % of what they harvest they don't even need for their profession.

I have always found that the best places to harvest are near the bell, Spires and Rings in each zone.

    [PvP]

People harvesting on toons less than level 10 are hiding from PvP.
That means its free for all on the nodes they target.

(im just a lowly rat trying to promote PvP)

Those lowbies in T3+ zones should be KoS to opposing players.

    Generic TLE tips:

T1 (lvl1-9) harvest in frostfang sea newbie area, or darklight woods newbie area.
T2 (lvl 10-19) new halas has abundant pelts, bushes and wood right in the city and also, limited ore. Your best bet is antonica over in the oracle tower bird area. commonlands on the way up towards crossroads from the docks is usually good as well.
T3 (lvl 20-29) nektulos forest at the bottom of nmars ascent is great, especially on the ridge on the right side as you face the ramp, and along the lake as you approach it.
T4 (lvl 30-39) zek is your friend! Go left up the path, and take the RIGHT path into the lumber area to avoid agro. Its a dance here but you can get decent harvests, especially since thundering steppes is so overcamped.

    Freeportians:
New Halas does have a bank at the second quest hub in frostfang that evils can use, as well as a broker by the quest giver.

OH they can also use the one on the New Halas newbie island. I'm not sure which one is closer, but there is less agro if you are low in level running to the newbie isle.
