On four separate attempts Ishti the ghost has despawned on me just feet away from the completion spot. I've spoken to several people on the server whom also are stuck on this same escort. Other's whom have completed it said they had trouble in the same spot and can't figure out why it despawns for no reason. Is this working as intended? It drops off target, drops off track, just gone.
Took a break, came back and the same problem again another two times. The ghost despawns at the exact same spot. 6 times now, no quest completion and I am unable to progress a signature quest line.
This is what wiki says, I hope it helps: You will have to follow him closely while he walks, slowly to T'Narev. This will take quite some time : ~15min. If you get too far away from him, he will tell you to stay with him. If this happens too many times, he will depop and respawn in a few minutes. It is recommended that you dismiss your pet before hailing, as otherwise the route can become bugged. This can be done using invisibility. Might not be able to do this during invisibility. I was using that page as a reference. He just never reappears. He seems to have 3 spots on the escort where he claims to be too far away, even though one is right on top of him. The third spot is where he poofs on me.
I am having the same issue. Have made 4 attempts at it today. Despawned in the first spot twice (giant area), 2nd spot once (harpy area), 3rd spot once (monk area). Insanely frustrating. This individual step is pretty miserable even if it is working correctly, but having it bug out after so much time waiting on ghost to spawn and then slow walking around after him is ridiculous. Especially once you factor in the hours of work required to complete the prereqs just to start the quest
Here are the 3 locations where Ghost of Ishti always seems to stop and may despawn: 1,339, -108, -747 803, -117, -1,269 356, -134, -1,366
Same thing here, 3 years later.................. must be working as intended .............................Tried jumping whole time, circling the whole time, no mount and also no invis and all of this at the same time as well cant seem to get past the 3rd spot where it says stay near me. EDIT: Found the fix, when he stops and says stay near me just hail him only ONE time and just sit still right next to him and he will start moving again ..... seems to happen about 4 times during the escort.
