We'll see. For heroic content, sins aren't top, probably because of the 5% max damage thing. Sins specialise in doing damage that exceeds that cap. In heroics, the first hit will be cut down to the 5% cap, and the doublecast will hit for zero. Fun stuff. BL's, rangers and rogues don't suffer from this issue, so right now, in certain situations, they may look better. My prediction is it'll change in raid, but maybe not. BL may be king this year.
That is what we have experienced so far. Ranger and BL has been the top in H1/H2 but during the raid Wednesday the SIn was back on top.
Beastlord > Ranger > everything else, and it's not close. Plus, assassins are getting nerfed tomorrow so they'll be absolutely terrible.
Sins have been hit so hard with the ugly stick this year it's almost laughable. The beginning of the expac was beautiful and I couldn't wait to get better gear. Now, I'm cringing behind the broken wizards, the over-tuned necros, and almost all the sins I know have betrayed to rangers.
Sins should still be around 3rd. Behind the BL and ranger, but ahead of the mages even after the boost. If you're lagging behind them, you've still got work to do. The nerf was bad. Really bad. And unfair and unnecessary, but we're not useless. If your wizard is a very good player, you should still be ahead of your summoners.
If you're on an assassin and beating a necro, that's more of an indictment on the necro than anything. Necro is really strong right now and assassin is...well...not. Conj is the only T1 mage assassins MAYBE should be beating imo. Probably not even them. Assassins need love, really bad. They work twice as hard to do less.
my gear on my sin is comparable to the mages in our raid, yet i am doing less than half to a third of what they are doing. i've been playing my sin a very long time, and before you ask, yes, i have the same mount/merc/familiar buffs they do, and leveled. even with a less than optimized group, i should not be pulling less than half of the mages. i know my sin very well. sins need help.
That I agree with. Judging by how long the rangers suffered though, I'm not expecting assassins to get any positive attention for a long time. If you expect the worst, you won't be disappointed. Judging by how things have been, I'm half expecting them to nerf us further.
i've been steadily disappointed consistently for several years now over the state of the sin, which is a bummer, considering it's my favorite class. i do fairly well if i work super hard, and am capable of being the only dps in even an h2 group if the rest of the players are decent. but stand me in a group next to a wiz, necro, ranger, or beastlord, and i'll never see the top, which is bupkis considering i'm supposed to be a T1 DPS. that extra combat melee nerf on top of the ffu nerf, on top of losing auto attack again, is really quite saddening, considering, imo, what would haf fixed most of the issues from day 1 would have been lowering the spell mitigation from the mobs, not everything else they've done.
The FFU change was, as far as I'm aware, to address an issue that kinda doesn't exist anymore. It should definitely be rolled back to 12 increments like before.
I don't really understand where this statement is coming from, but if you say so. whatever. i'm not here to argue. only share my opinion. which is what it is. an opinion. we'll agree to disagree then.
I don't know specifically, it's something odd like they all do 1, except... massacre? is 1.5 or something dumb like that, gut and necrotic blade are like 3 and 5 respectively. Think assassinate is 2? idk. Been a while.
I remember assassin being every bit tier 1 dps. It was posted years ago how the classes will relate to one another in damage dealt. Tier 1 Wizard then Warlock Assassin then Ranger Tier 2 Conjurer then Necro using damage pet Brigand then Swashbuckler Tier 3 Coercer then Illusionist, Conjurer/Necro is using a tank type pet. Troubador then Dirge Bruiser then Monk Tier 4 Berserker then Shadowknight Paladin then Guard Tier 5 Fury then Warden Defiler then Mystic Inquisitor then Templar This was from long before beastlords and channelers entered the game but was a guide as to what to expect. Not sure how it relates in todays game.
