I play solo 99% of the time. I haven't started my ascension class stuff yet. Getting there. Just taking my sweet time. Mostly, I have been using an SK merc with scout pet. That worked well through ToT. Now in KA I am wondering if I should try a different set up. I have a wide variety of mercs to choose from (no archons yet). But I am wondering what other necros have experienced as a 'best' combo of pets and mercs in KA. Care to share?
I have yet to find an actual need to have a merc at 100. I bought cheap-ish gear on the broker and dove into it. I stopped using mercs at cap starting back in CoE. Their minuscule DPS and pathetic heals have been worthless to me. Use whatever pet you want. I like the scout pet, and consumption works if you need some extra healing. If that's not enough switch to mage pet. Point is if you wish to use a merc use whatever you want. Otherwise you can do plenty of DPS and self healing even without one.
