    Hi all !

After a 6+ months break (so I've no idea about the "new" Xpack other than it's in the Kunark's zones that didn't make it in EQ2 RoK), I'm thinking about coming back.
Obvîously, I've a few questions

    - First, Is this even a good idea ? Or should I wait for the next Xpack ? (some threads sound scary...)

    - I've several lvl 100 but I like my necro best, is it still a viable class in group (or raid once equiped) ? And if not, which class would you advice ?

You have a lot of work ahead of you, if you do get the expansion. First off, you will need all new gear, for the most part. Unless you have top raiding gear from ToT, then you MIGHT be okay to start, but still struggle. You will need to buy Twark handcrafted (or better) for as much potency as you can get. From now on, you are an official Potency desireror. There are some other stats that help but mainly Potency to start with. Otherwise you will take 15 minutes to kill one overland mob. The Epic 2.o that is a selling point for KA expansion requires lot of faction work, doing old grey quests and level 100 crafting skill in something. Do be warned about that. I suggest you log on (even if F2P) and talk to people on your server you know, or guildies or exguildies and get their opinions directly.

    Good luck!

If you're having problems with Potency and you need a boost... Try Cialis. My wife never kicks me out of the group anymore.

Necromancer is absolutely viable class in Kunark Ascending, but like Meneltel said you'll need Potency, and lots of it. Common advice seems to be, if you want to run the normal heroic groups you'll need at least 20k Potency - and unless you were grinding Tithe during Terrors of Thalumbra already, it won't be easy anymore. People used to be grinding their Tithe 24/7 in old contested zones like High Keep Contested or Ossuary and there's a very big gap between new players, because of that.
Now the old contested zones' experience for Tithe was nerfed hard, they're no good places to grind it anymore, only the Kunark Ascending zones, public quests and key quests are still viable options - and I'm not even sure if the gap between people who got a huge advantage ahead, and those who're new to Kunark Ascending, can be ever closed. And if you're not one of the "awesome DPS" who can blow through a zone, it might be very hard to find a group to take you in now.

 DO NOT SEEK THE TREASURE!!!!
If all you're doing is joining for the xpac, wait. So many issues still.
I've resigned myself to chrono-down and running old content; which imo has it merits since the xpac does require completion of some old content.
I'm also of the opinion that (and this is only my opinion), why should I invest any more money into this game if db won't.
