In the beginning area, before the mainland, do I have to do all the quests to move on from that area or can I turn some down? If I turn any down will I able to move on to the next area or am I stuck until I finish all quests? Just want to know for sure what to do next.
No you don't have to do all of them and you aren't blocked from leaving the area till they are complete, but there might be some quests that you can't start in that zone if you haven't completed a preceding quest. The nice thing about EQ2 is that you can level your character in any number of ways (e.g. Quests, Grinding on higher level mobs, etc...).
