You are so full of it.
You might can solo a named heroic as lvl 50 with fabled gear and a twinked up the butt character. But for us normal guys, that have treasured or handcrafted gear and don't have all master spells and have have a real life so that we can powerlevel to lvl 50, blue heroics are not an everyday occurance. Sure, can I handle one, if I get very, very lucky. The point is , my Shadowknight and my son's assassin can handle white heorics with not even breaking a sweat. I run more than I kill blue heroics.
Next time if you don't have something intelligent to say, just keep you mouth shut, you are showing you ignorance and just how big and [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] you are.

I'm afraid you're mistaken, I had no problem soloing desert tarantulas using my adept 1 roots for CC (this was 4 days ago). I quit after about 10 of them because it was slow and the XP just didn't seem worth the effort. Heroic mobs have gotten a substantial boost to HP so it took at least 2/3's of my health and power per kill. It's not a very safe way to XP but it's definitely doable.

FYI - I have only 2 fabled pieces - yes rest of gear at legendary lvl and let me tell you what if warlock cannt afford upgrade gear to at least legendary lvl - such warlock dont know how to play class...
Yes most of my primary attacks at Master 1 rest are Adept 3 - but same like gear - there is NO excuse for warlock not to have his primary attack and roots at Adept 3

And yes previous poster was right - soloing +++ nowdays more for bragging rights - exp/time very poor compare to wacking groups of 4-5 mobs - - - (those die in single devastation round)

And if anyone ignorant here that's you ... - look I gave you step by step way to solo heroic +++ what else you need? You been told upgrade roots to Adept 3 (btw Cower Adept 3 looks hold single mob much better then Bony Grasp Adept 3). The ONLY thing that may kill you while solo +++ if you encounter mob-caster and your resistance isn't good enouth and even then there is a trick to overcome this problem (come from behind of mob and mob wont able land single spell on you)

OK. Last night in Zek, while killing the dust adders, one of which is blue heroic ^, I was able to kill him 3 times. Twice paralyzing fear held throughout most of the battle, with only recasting it once. The third time, I had to run a little, stun with nullification then root (did not take), re-stun, re-root then it held and was able to kill him. I was in the orange for health. This MOB was 2 levels below me. The white ^ orc owned me in 2 hits, resisted both the root and the stun, stunned me, then dead before I could even run.
I agree about he groups, never had a problem soloing them. I take blue underlines in 3 spells, whites in 4-5, never a sweat.
As far as no excuse for Adept III or Masters, again, it might be easy for a lvl 50 to do, but us normal folks still are struggling.
    1. I have 1 adept 3 (paralyzing fear) and no masters. I have never found a master nor have I ever seen one on the broker. On my server, they simply are not there.
    2. I have 1 jasper, 2 tier 4 rares harvested for spells. I got all of these with in the past month. Been waiting until the upgrade to get the spells made. I harvest like mad and do not get the rares. I have seen a total of 5 rares in 36 levels, 1 coral I sold, b/c I was lvl 26 when I got it. And one rare root. The cheapest rare on my server runs for 50 gold. I currently have 1p 90g. I read all time about how everyone has all of these tops sells, but I have not been able to afford them.
I also think that those people that keep saying to learn to play the class are major league jerks. You don't even read the message. I am lvl 36. I don't have bony grasp, cower, devastation or any of those. Why don't you try mentoring to lvl 35-36 then have the partner stand aside and see how you do. As others have said on this board, with the upgrade, the lvl 20-40 took a big nerf. We have 3 AOE spells, they all got upgrades, but we still have to rely on DD which took the big nerf. Maybe if paralyzing fear was an AOE root it would be different, but we don't have that. This upgrade help the warlocks 40+, did nothing or hurt those of us below.
You are too big a jerk for me to continue this discussion. I have see you do nothing but bash people on these boards. I for one am done with you.

Have you actually tested your in combat regen? (ie. nuke something and watch your power regen and calculate it) With your items and traits you regen 31 in battle.

    Prismatic - 12
    Battlement - 7
    Oppulent - 2
    Traits - 10

Now the current system of regen is supposed to be 1 in combat tick per 10 lvls. So if you are lvl 50 you should only be ticking 36 in combat with the items and traits you have. In addition you are capped at how much regen you can have. At 50 the max regen is 75 In combat and at 60 it will be 90 in combat.

So with all that said where are you getting the other 37 points of in combat regen?

I think you were using the value for regen you tested prior to expansion because before DoF your natural regen was based upon 1% of your power pool.

Not sure what you're getting at? I've already stated that it's possible for us to solo things most classes wouldn't double-think about with good gear... Rework your strategy.

My warlock buddy still has amazing DPS and can do amazing things with his class, like I can with my Wizard. If you're upset with the changes, then you're just unhappy that you don't have /godmode compared to other classes.

Actually, I could care less what my DPS is. I have never parsed a battle, I don't know how and I don't care to learn. I do care that my Shadowknight at lvl 26 can take on a single heroic ^^ mob and win (although it is close), but my warlock can't handle blue heroic ^ on a consistant basis. Seem fair? No not to me. In fact, my personal opinion is that no class should be able to handle ^^ at blue or above, but that is a different arguement. Where is the balance?

However, I can live with that. I never really have cared about comparing classes too much. I think people that worry about DPS will never be satisfied. My biggest complaint is that we were changed totally. Went from DD to AOE, but the change only affects those warlocks at 40 or greater (when you get the AOE root). Why wasn't paralyzing fear made an AOE root? Why do I have to play 2/3 of the current levels before I can become the true AOE class? Where are my AOE debuffs? At my lvl I have 3 AOE spells. I am not and AOE specialist at lvl 36, I am not a DD specialist, I am some hybrid in between. And it sucks!!! This was obviously thrown together at the last minute to make the warlocks "special". Well that is BS. We were special before. Give us a diseased based nuke. Oh right that comes at lvl 54 or something. Nothing at lower lvls.

The description of the low to mid lvl warlock should read, "casts green or purple clouds that land on MOBs sometimes and you better kill the group before it gets to you or your a goner. And if you last to lvl 40, then things become as we envisioned."

With out debating who is right and who is wrong I will just post my own experiences.

I solo far better now. I could never before take a white single up arrow group. Now I can.

I do have better then average gear I think at 25, not quest, mostly store bought. I have mostly app3 or better spells on everything and I picked the DD for my master 2 choice.

Seriously, Guardians soloing better then Warlocks, come on guys. Lets not start using obvious bs tactics now to prove a point either, I have a 30 guardian and there is no way he solo's anywhere near the level of this warlock. I know the other tanks are pretty buff right now, but my guard is far from a good soloer and I wish I had gone sk or bruiser.

Look dude - even before rewamp warlock couldn't touch heroics mob with 10 feet pole before lvl 40 (bony grasp = /god mode on). Melee on countary been soloed easy heroics at teens and 20s. Heck I have seen brigand soloed named kitty at his lvl 50 STAIGHT melee before rewamp so get off your high horse.
Melee before rewamp depending on gear were able mitingate and avoid most of damage specially guardians and had DPS rival to wizard. Warlocks comes to power slowly but surely getting peak at lvl 50. Again man believe you or not you wont feel a real warlock untill you first time get your hands on Devastation or at least Nil Absolution
  12. ARCHIVED-Faeye Guest

/tell rantun Okay, Warlocks are better now.
  13. ARCHIVED-Andre Z Guest

Yes, warlocks are possible better as chanters before rewamp.

As up today i can say very little positive things for warlocks rewamp, and tons of negative.

Maybe its a level thing. because as a LVL 42 warlock I cannot kill ANYTHING in a timely manner. I am doing harclave right now. I zoned in and have difficulties killing Tesch Mas brutes that are lvl 42 as well. Thes arent even heroic or anything. I have read the advice on how to kill things with the new combat changes but they dont apply to lvl 42 warlock. I root using bony grasp. Then the ROOT WILL BREAK every time if I DOT it or if I use any other DD (i have 2) Nil Distortion (685-1272 damage apedt 3) or Null Absolution (697-1294 master 2). My other DDs would make the fight go on for several minutes for a same lvl non-heroic mob.

Now, the only difference is that I am using Adept I Bony Grasp. If upgrading to Adept3 will make the difference then that would be shocking because it is same level (lvl 42) as me and now the root breaks every time and It seems inconceviable that an Adept 1-3 upgrade will make the root that much more solid on same lvl opponents.

I am usually close to death in these battles because the root will break and I use FM until Bony Grasp is available again. BUT it takes me 1-3 minutes per battle and being close to death every time on a same lvl non-heroic opponent. I also have lots of issues when i goto the upper tunnels and fight those non-melee things in the air.

I am not bashing the new system - just looking for advice on what I should be doing different because at level 42 this combat change is kicking my ****.
