Freebloods are vampires, but why they get charmed by other vamps? they are suppose to be immune to charm effect.
    it seem so wrong.
Freebloods are sort of "daywalkers", Dhamphires in other word for different breed of vampires.
watch Vampire Hunter D, he is a daywalker, dhamphire, also immune to charms, and more physically stronger, better hunger controlled.
Marvel comics' "Blade" was also a type of daywalker.

Anything can be mentally magicked by a creature more powerful. If you want to not be charmed, you need to be looking for gear that has arcane or mental resists on it. Also, in your character development, you can choose to boost arcane resistance along the way.
You must train your mind, grasshopper, if you wish to do battle with it, just as much as you would train your body to use a sword.

    Freeblood Lore never made sense.

Buying the freeblood class is a waste of time and money tbh, half the traits you pay for don't even work

Hmm, maybe they need "Vampire" tree skill. i am sure devs hadnt thought of it, for the "racial/heritage" skills.

Freebloods also walk around in daylight

Dracula walked around in daylight in the original novel, what's wrong with that?

Seems the lore never came and maybe it was just a money grab ;)
I'm still trying to grasp how a vampire is a race vs an affliction/disease. Generally most icon supports vampires of different races and even species. We should have vampire dwarfs, gnomes, whatever else based upon general excepted lore.

Freeblood lore does make sense. here's the breakdown:
D'ryil vampires (the neriak 'clan') were looking for a way to strengthen thier bloodline. they didn't want to be pushed around by D'morte or Mayong's 'clans' which are older, and stronger. they stole notes about Tserrina's transformation, after adventurer's stole the Ewer, the source they had been using to turn others.
then they started experimenting. they captured members of all races, and most everyone died a horrible, agonizing death...elves and human vicitms seemed to do better, but no successes. until Sarkon.
Sarkon was probably elven stock, but he at the least survived the turning process. however, he was physically weaker, had almost no regenerative ability...and was not loyal to his 'maker' or clan as he should have been. So they considered him at best, a partial success. he turned, but he was not what they wanted in a vampire.
then Sarkon escaped. in full daylight. apparently while he's a weak vampire, he has also become immune to sunlight and the resulting bbq that normally happens. and because he isn't bound by that pesky bond of blood that normally runs through the clan lines sire to child, he can, and probably would, bite the hands that made him.

Sarkon shows up in NoTD. the LP instance. though he was defeated, presumably killed by an adventurer...not everyone that tried was so lucky. however many of those that attempted and failed were turned..and exhibited all the same traits as Sarkon. free willed, immune to sunlight, though weakling vampire strength/regen. and again, the turning only worked with certain races, just as it had only worked with Sarkon.
these new vampires call themselves 'Freebloods' and work thier way into the cities...turning others, tryign to redeem themselves, learning about thier new existance, what have you.
