   I have been playing EQ2 for many years and have never had this issue. I am able to get to my char select screen in game, but when i attempt log in there are no npc's, I cant click anything and I get booted from the game. I have reinstalled the game, checked firewalls, etc. I am at a total loss at this point.

   I am also repeatedly getting a message that the server is backlogged.

   sounds like a connection problem. too high latency or something like that
