I use the addon eq2map, usefull and give some more points to look up on the map as the normal standard. Otherwise, can´t think of an fix, but if you read the quest closely, it will show you where (Like in the good old days ^^)
Some of the zones, starting around 30 or 35 I think don't show the quest information as I guess they were revamped and maybe didn't go that far to finish the quests on the map. Luckily it only lasts a little while, a few zones, maybe to level 50 or 55 or so. Like Kalderon said, get eq2maps interface download, it will help for the rest of your adventuring career. You can also access sites like eq2.zam.com for quest information.
