New Guild Halls...too expensive

For the price, the (confirmed) tier of the hall, the upkeep cost, item count, whether or not it's a fly zone the exact details of the new amenity should have been documented so that the players could make an informed decision - not gamble that the amenity would be "cool enough".

Has anyone even figured out if the xp vial is a one time thing? Or what the reset timer on it is? Could one of the official types step in and provide that information?

Honestly, between the complete fubar of the "anyone can earn it" High Hold that crafters could "earn" by buying components to repair from adventurers, and this nonsense of an outrageously-priced guild hall that still requires upkeep, I'd rather you either made a recall beacon for premium housing, or opened up the /house menu so people could teleport from city zones to homes they are trustees of, not just those they own. The premium housing is beautiful, varied, has some amazing options for decorating, and will still be accessible when you return from those times RL prevents you or the handful of friends in your family guild from logging on for a few weeks. I'll deal with the lack of amenities if we can just have an easy-to-access place for us to gather, regardless of alignment.

    edit:
Radar, I appreciate that you are trying to reassure us of the solidarity of DBG staff. Unfortunately, all this statement has done is undermine my faith in the EQ2 developers, who apparently agreed that selling something for $400 with no information and (apparently) very little in-house testing was a good idea.

You want an on-the-record quote from an EQ2 dev saying that Marketplace pricing is always a group decision and that Finance and Marketing have never overridden this?

I read it as "dont blame the devs, not their fault", way to throw them under the bus!

selling guild halls is a new feature? You mean the ones we would earn through an expansion back in the day?

Wouldnt making something at the least previewable or more accessable and not contingent on many people investing in it allow you to calculate demand a little better than offering something at a ridiculous price that people are already not happy with? How can you see how something performs when its not very attainable or has nothing new to offer?

This is pretty much the same as polling ideas that have no clear description. How are you getting a clear picture from people who know and play the game when you cant outline the idea you propose clearly? Especially when eq2 players are pretty into the details

Honestly, wheres the logic in this?

Oh, yes, please!! While you're at it, show all published houses for the account under the "My Houses" filter as well.

I can't adequately express how much I would appreciate these changes!

Everyone works on the same team. There is no this group wants to do this and that group wants to do that. We all work together and succeed or fail together.

Like I said if the price point is too high, we won't begrudge anyone that. The team wants to see how these things play out and as time goes on there is nothing saying this price stays the same.

I cannot fathom paying $350-$400 for a single digital item that has no gameplay/content. Sure, you can spin the logic all you want about the fact that it's a guild purchase, and therefore intended for individuals to pay smaller sums, but that doesn't negate from the logic being purely around maximizing bang for buck. The return value on such a purchase is abysmal.

However, from a standpoint of offering cheap real money items that sell for high plat, that alone isn't a bad deal currently ($1.00 real money for 1,000+ plat). It'll be interesting to see how the prices for the tickets on the broker level out over the coming weeks/months.

For that much money DBG would have to start paying ME rent....but then I am downright scrooge-like.

Care to explain why there was no thread announcing this "new feature" in the news and announcements section of the forums?

The purpose of News and Announcements is to push news to our launchpad and ensure the community sees what's current. We've recently added functionality to our website publishing that allows it propagate to the launchpad without a forum post. In fact if I started to post maintenance notifications to the website we could actually shut that forum down with little impact. I don't have any plans to do that however.

Is there a chance you/the team could look at the amenity RadarX?

We bought it, we're the only ones to have bought it, and honestly as of now I can't imagine anyone else buying it for a one time claim exp vial that at 100 doesn't even grant a single tithe point.

Can it be changed to triple flying speed? Or something that provides not combat benefit but at least is a nod to the people who are willing to pay 400$.

I'd also like to know if it's possible to expand the area in which items can be placed. All other guild halls you can 'jailbreak' and get access to more space, in this one it's unique in that you can only place items in areas normally accessible.

    Hope to hear back.

edit: Since we were the first ones to buy it, obviously we can't have known what the amenity was going to be when investing.

Perhaps we could also get an answer as to why there is NO documentation about these halls, other than the excessive price tag.

Edit: I would think that New Features would be clearly and thoroughly documented, so that players can make informed decisions about whether or not to make use of the feature, and accurate data can be gathered for future implementation of same or similar features.

Obviously very valid feedback and we certainly appreciate it. I can't answer any of that definitively but can certainly pass this information along.

The amenity would be great if we were all level 5, and played an hour a week! =p

As it is though I think it should realistically be something that provides some benefit outside of combat to a level 100.

    Something QoL related.

Another suggestion would be the ability to zone to any current tier raid/heroic zone, from the guild hall.

I really like the idea of triple flight speed. It would be, new, different, and would make the investment of 400$ feel like it wasn't just wasted so someone could skip 20 levels on an alt. Tyvm for the reply.

I'm having trouble locating prior documentation we've done for guild halls. Could you elaborate on what you were looking for?
  18. Mermut Well-Known Member

Information such as item limit, fly/no fly, and what, exactly the 'special amenity' are some that seem fairly basic.

This makes me feel worse, not better.

When/if you discount the price because people won't pay 400$ for a virtual item, I imagine those that paid that won't be too happy. Why would you just stick something ( with bugs ) on the market place for so much money to just see how it goes?

I know you're all thinking, feeling human beings and so I try to be respectful and mindful of that, however, we need the same respect. We're your customers, people, not a faceless mass to see how much can be made from us.

I didn't realize that developers made marketing decisions and that people in the marketting department made programming decisions....

I realize that the ideas are likely discussed by the team (or at least various members of some of the teams), but I assumed that the specifics are determined by 'specialists' in each department.
