I will be updating the Tik-Tank and Dok-Tok mercs as soon as I am through reading the forums Sig. I got the info yesterday. I purposefully did not look at what you had for them so that when I took the info down if there was an issue with what you had we would see it.

I use Evania almost exclusively, that is why she is maxxed out for me. I still have at least 30-40 on our list to get updated. Now that the holidays are over, the funeral has passed, a ton of medical appointments, and a bunch of other adulting requirements are behind me, recording in earnest begins.

No rush, hon! I'm hoping community members who have some of those Marketplace mercs will step up and post stats for us!

I have quite a few of those as well. There were a few times when I was not paying attention and just clicking through when they first started giving us the option of the crate instead of the 500 DBCash and got the 2 packs of crates.

I have a ton of DBC right now from when I did the lifetime membership I can buy some merc crates too and see what I can get. My time through the week is so limited now though I basically have time to scan through the forums, then it's off to do dishes and cat boxes and stuff. But this weekend I plan to try to get Evania finished after getting faction and I'll get some merc crates and see if I can help out a bit. I'll print out the wiki at work tomorrow to see what all is needed. Is it pretty much updated at this point?
  5. Cyrrena Well-Known Member

Sig updated it. So everything that had been done through last night was updated.
  6. Breanna Well-Known Member

We left work early today so I'll either bounce around doing that or work on the Evania. Although it wouldn't let me print the wiki page which sort of ticks me off a bit now I'll have to bounce back and forth.
  7. Breanna Well-Known Member

Hey not sure if you missed it or not but I did Zhurgus (sp) he's a few post up I don't see him updated on the wiki.
  8. Breanna Well-Known Member

Ok I bought (2) 7 crates, 7 of them were repeat SIGH 1 of them is done already but I have 6 I can do. I have one I could not find on the list to see if it was done or not Jeso Vuss. I'll post as I get the results. Kind of sad there were so many repeat.
  9. Breanna Well-Known Member

Sigrdrifa & Cyrrena You guys have mail :) I added 7 to the missing list. Regrettably out of 21 mercs I only got 7 that were different a ton of repeats.

Well, I have just discovered that, regarding Marketplace mercenaries, rarity is not an indicator of quality. Using the coercers as an example, it appears that the Rare coercer mercs have ''worse'' stats than the Uncommon or Common ones, and no better spells. And Marketplace mercenaries often have worse stats than mercenaries you can get in-game. ''Caveat Emptor!''

    Example:

A while back, this is what Gninja had to say about mercenary confidence:

    ======================================
Merc Confidence: “In Over Their Head”
One of the most talked about limits placed on non-fighter Mercenaries in EQ2 is the “In Over Their Head” mechanic. Mercenaries will fight for you, but the pay isn’t necessarily worth dying for! If too many (or too powerful) enemies are wailing on your hired merc, they will cower in the corner and lose much effectiveness until the situation changes.

    According to Gninja:
[Confidence] is a threshold value they have. Tank mercs can take on close to epic encounters(x4) but not quite so if the total number of creatures being fought equals up to that number with higher tier creatures costing more points then they will cower.
Tank mercs have much higher threshold than other mercs, and the [Shadowknight] merc has the same confidence as the other tank mercs.

[Mercs] should only get in over their head when creatures are targetting them. If they are getting in over their head with nothing targetting them it is a bug but I have yet to see that happen when I use them.

This came up in the context of the Forgotten Pools where Stamper, the inquisitor mercenary, stopped helping on the first named that drops noxious “goo” which players must avoid.

Ah that makes sense actually… The piles of goo that named summons are creatures casting spells so they were likely targetting him and there was nothing you could do about it. I will take a look at that situation and see if I can fix that.

Players have noted that mercenaries under this effect seem to stop all other actions and just stand there cowering. According to Gninja, they don’t stop fighting, healing, or curing, but instead their effectiveness is reduced:

Just because they cower does not mean they stop doing everything it just lowers their effectiveness.
The largest thing [In Over Their Head] affects is potency. Cures would not be affected by the “In over their head” debuff they gain when they hit their confidence threshold.

Dang I was hoping someone had gotten Evania Val Sara already. I just realized even using the level to 110 tradeskill thing and not being able to sign the mercenary contract, you must have some faction with Nye Celona to hire her so off I go to OF to do the tradeskill quest line totally forgetting that I have to do Proof of the Pudding and all the Maldura stuff first grrrrr.... so getting her stats will take a lot longer than I thought. Instead of all the tradeskill stuff I may just do the adventure stuff and see if I can pound out faction that way.

You dont need any faction to get her, all you have to be able to do is fly and complete the collection quest near Nye Celona.
  17. Pixistik Don't like it? You're not alone!

I have verified the mercs do still heal and cure you even when in over their heads, they don't graphically show fighting animations but there is damage coming from them.
I have not witnessed the pussling boogar cowering and I have tendency to pull mass quantities of mobs at a time, tho I am fairly certain he/she or w/e it is doesn't perform as well as it could at times so it is in fact over its head.
  18. Breanna Well-Known Member

That is what I thought also Pixi because I swear I got her on another character. But it's not allowing me to sign the contract the only option I get is save for later.
  19. Pixistik Don't like it? You're not alone!

You know its possible you already signed the contract and just have to pick her up. The contract is not lore so you can get it more than once on the same character..I have two of the contracts in my bag at the moment but cant sign either so going to check if I had already claimed it.
    just a thought

Went out and completed the Cae'Dal collection quest and turned it in, I can now sign the contract.
