Hey, I'm back after an extended leave. Last time I played you just hired a merc and were done with it. However, I'm now seeing mention of improving your existing merc. I know the merc reflects your character level, but I thought someone mentioned leveling or improving the quality of your merc? And then I hear there is merc gear for mercs only? Would anyone be so kind as to clarify this for a returning player? Thanks a ton!
Only mercs can wear merc gear, but mercs can wear regular gear, too. Call up your merc, go to your character sheet, and open up the merc window. There will be a purple box next to the merc's name. Click on that and click the train button. Wait until the time has passed for that level of training, follow these steps again, and do the same until the merc reaches level 5. Each level of training opens up more slots for gear.
