Katsina grow up in fields with goats. Goat herder not good ogre job. Mother big and strong. Mother find great warrior and make Katsina but Father die in battle. Mother have no other man; wants no other man. Grandfather shaman of Rallos Zek, The Warlord; think battle only good place. Grandfather sees Mother with feelings for dead man. Grandfather says she brings shame on him. Grandfather mad, hits grandmother. Mother too big, too strong to get hit. Grandfather tell other ogres that Katsina a spirit child so there be no shame on him or mother. Grandfather still hit grandmother a lot. Mother move to goat farm alone with Katsina. Katsina watches goats. Katsina good with goats. Goats thirsty. Katsina goes to stream to water goats. Katsina finds cave near water edge. Inside smells good, water taste good there; not too hot, not too cold. Katsina takes goats to cave many times. Little people come and visit Katsina there. Little spirit people! Mother tells Katsina she has secret. Tells Katsina she have not just little feelings for dead man, had big love for Katsina father! Tells Katsina she worship Erollisi Marr, The Queen Of Love. She say one can find after-death in many ways, not only in hatred or battle. Katsina listen good. Katsina think that other ways would be better. Grandfather come to visit, tries to hit Katsina. Mother stop him with her fist. Mother dies of poison she eats. Grandfather say she kill herself because of shame. Shame of what? Katsina know truth. Grandfather kill her. Grandfather say Katsina go with him. Katsina run to cave with goats. Grandfather goes away. Little spirit men of earth help Katsina. Katsina really is spirit child now. Katsina get big and leave cave. Katsina big girl in head too. Katsina know many thing. Katsina not same as Mother. Katsina be very careful and leave this place. Katsina find place where ogre does not have to hurt family to be spirit in after-death. Katsina will tell no one; will say and do what other ogre do until leave.
