I know I got some books to drop. Beta is such a blur... I really want to say I got some in the instances. As for overland mobs, if typical they've added them to the generic mob level like spell books. Ie: a level 10 mob anywhere has a chance of dropping a level 10 crafting book. I guess time will tell. At least there's just three levels.
True. What little time I had for beta I did do some questing, and I had about six books drop: some common, others advanced books. I'm just twitching about the crafters I need books for, and the ones needed for guildees/friends...oy.
