In-Game and In-Character Message Board! (LDL)

Within our newly acquired Guild Hall in New Halas, the Ice Dragon Inn is also hosting a new sort of RP hub. Everyone is familiar with typical Tavern and Inn RP, and if you've been a regular RPer on LDL this year, you've probably heard of, seen, or even visited the Ice Dragon Inn in either Halas or Gorowyn. What we are offering is a means to communicate both ICly and In-Game without using message boards, in-game mail, or tells.
There are two issues that the Ice Dragon Inn is seeking to either correct, or lessen the impact of. The first is the lack of interest to check outside message boards, or the lack of information regarding the location of these websites and which ones are updated. With our new Bulletin Board interface within the Inn itself, a player will not need to alt tab out of game to check forums for current events. They will be able to stay in game, and stay in character, even walking up to the notices physically to read them.
The second issue is the lack of interest in Inn/Tavern RP in general. To explain how we are helping with this issue is to understand a little Real World history. Before there was the Internet, Television, Radio, or even Telegraph, there were signs, posters, and word of mouth. When one wished to hear about the latest gossip and local and non-local news, they went to a central hub. Historically this would have been the Church, the Market, or the local Tavern, Inn, or Pub. Now there is more reason to visit the Inn then just Food, Booze, and Sleep.
The intent of this new feature is for the Ice Dragon Inn to be a sort of Home Away From Home. It would be like a sort of meeting place for adventurers for both before and after their adventure, task, or mission. For example, a member from a group of Bounty Hunters might visit the Inn to see what sort of business can be found on the Bulletin Board. They might find a possible job and send word to his comrades to meet at the Tavern at a later time or date. These members would meet and discuss their method of action (if this is done at the Inn, this could open up doors to even deeper RP plotlines if say others overhear the conversations and wish to help or hinder the individuals). Once the mission is complete, they might return yet again to the Inn to discuss the details of splitting the loot and recuperating and celebrating their latest victory.
That is just one example. Other posts could be upcoming RP events such as Formal Occasions, Weddings, Grand Openings, and other events. A player could also use it to find others to fill in plotlines via an IC means. The possibilities are limited to your imagination and the imagination of a RPing community is limitless.

Now how does this all work exactly? Quite simply. There is an actual Bulletin Board the Ice Dragon Inn Guild Hall that we will be posting submissions for others to read. This will be done in the form of Player Made Notebooks. Basically you write your submission into the notebook and send it to one of the Staff members of the Ice Dragon Inn. You can either send it by in game mail, or drop it off in person to one of the members of the Staff during one of our openings.
We request that you use a Notebook that appears upright when placed in a House/Guild Hall. This fits within our format that we have in the Guild Hall. Here is a list of Notebooks by tier that we will accept:

Tanned Leather Notebook (tier 2) http://eq2decorators.com/Objects/Im...hernotebook.jpg
Cured Leather Notebook (tier 2 rare) http://eq2decorators.com/Objects/Im...hernotebook.jpg
Etched Leather Notebook (tier 4) http://eq2decorators.com/Objects/Im...hernotebook.jpg
Engraved Leather Notebook (tier 4 rare) http://eq2decorators.com/Objects/Im...hernotebook.jpg
Stonehide Leather Notebook (tier 6) http://eq2decorators.com/Objects/Im...hernotebook.jpg
Scaled Leather Notebook (tier 6 rare) http://eq2decorators.com/Objects/Im...hernotebook.jpg
Bristled Leather Notebook (tier 8) http://eq2decorators.com/Objects/Im...hernotebook.jpg
Hidebound Leather Notebook (tier 8 rare) http://eq2decorators.com/Objects/Im...hernotebook.jpg

We also have the following guidelines for those making submissions to our Bulletin Board.
All content of the submission must be within the rating of Everquest II by the ESRB. Basically it must be Teen-rated or PG-13. In addition one may not use the Bulletin Board submissions for harassment. Look to the Play Nice Policy on the Knowledge Base for detailed information on what is and isn't appropriate. In otherwords, use common sense.
Place the date of your submission at the very bottom. Submissions have a maximum lifespan of one month. After about a month of being on the Bulletin Board, your notebook will be returned to its author. If you wish it to persist for more then a month, talk to the staff about the details, this will be handled on a case-by-case basis. This is to avoid the Bulletin Board from being cluttered with the same information all the time. We wish to keep an influx of new information coming in all the time if at all possible.
If you wish for the submission to expire after a set time list the expiration date after the date the submission is created. We will take down the submission and send back the notebook to you at the date of the expiration date. If you do not receive it back by then, please send us a message to remind us.
If you need to edit your submission before it expires, please let us know. Also when you do this, edit the date at the bottom to the date you make the changes. Unless it is just minor corrections.
Remember that you can reuse the books you use. When your submission expires, we send the Notebook back to you so you do not need to purchase another one. The author of the notebook can always edit the contents. So keep using the same one over and over!
We recommend that you use common when writing these books. But we will allow you to use other languages for ICly reasons.

Right now we are currently taking submissions to flesh out the Bulletin Board for our Guild Hall Grand Opening. Please send a tell or in-game mail to Adiizia, Genevisse, Shiari, or Ellyen if you have questions or if you need an example of what a submission might look like.

Not on LDL but this sounds really interesting and rather clever! Please keep us posted on how well it goes :)
