How fast to 90?

You are the one saying you have no interest in anything but playing at 90. Therefore my suggestions to you would reflect that position. You want to play only group and raid content at cap as a noob then you HAVE to get into a guild right away.

It's -possible- to hit level 80 in 7 hours. So 90 would be do-able in a day.
It took me 1 week to level from 80 to 90 when SF came out. 4 days to get to 22 isn't that bad at all. I'd say if you wanted to grind but make sure you kept a reasonable amount of AA and really learnt the game... a month to get to 90 would be a good time frame.
That's just an estimate, and you could prolly do it faster with the same AA and understanding of the game... or you could take longer. Completely depends on your playstyle.

Really? I've yet to reach the game then as my main Froglok Guardian (a geniune knight of Tupta mind you) only just dinged level 89 last night, which in case you hadn't noticed also makes the statement that every player is at level 90 false.
I think you are confusing EQ2 with WoW, the WoW devs have repeatedly said that the real game starts at the max level, that's not EQ2's game design where content you level past is still valid (since you can mentor down to do it at a challenging level, you also cannot boost people in instances since if anyone in the party is too high level everything goes grey to you).
And you will find yourself alone at times in a whole zone, the game world is huge and the game design does not funnel you into a linear path in most areas, hence joining a guild and socialising with other players is recommended.
You've sent out several posts already going on about how you find solo questing a grind (its not, that's you not enjoying an RPG with storylines to follow and a world to explore). As for "copycatted", I've read a lot of fantasy and played a lot of RPG's both on the computer and with pen and paper and the imagination in EQ2 does surprise me often where they take a high fantasy approach to the world of Norrath, take the Sokotar, Frogloks, Arasi..

There are a few new players - how many I cannot say. Yes, there are many accounts that have 7 or 12 characters. How may, I cannot say.
What I can say is in my particular guild, we do get new - never played EQ2 before people. Everyone who wants a group can easily find one in our guild no matter what the level - whether a brand new player or an old timer who has been playing ever since the release of EQ1.
I'm not sure of your definition of a grind? Does it mean doing questing over and over, or killing mobs over and over or what? EQ2 is what you make of it, what you want from it. If you want the capped level play only - there are several ways to get there within a very short period of time. I've already give several methods in an earlier post.
Others have also told you about the lore, questlines, AAs, and so on. So, I'm not sure what you are asking?
Do you wish a game that doesn't have alts? Any game that is almost 7 years old is gonna have players who have been there done that - and with other characters. Some box, some solo, some group, some only raid at capped level. Some are only crafters, not adventurers.
I'm not sure why the number of alts in the game is such a big deal to you. Actual content? Ya... lots of it. There are over 6000 quests with stories behind them. There are tons of books just filled with lore - and you have to do quests in order to read it all. Many peeps enjoy crafting for others and persue that area including decorating houses and guild halls - yeah, for plat, too!
If you take a look throughout these forums into various areas such as History and Lore, Norrathian Homeshow, Tradeskill, Quests & Live events, Battlegrounds - I think you'll begin to understand the diversity of this game. It's awesome.
Also take a cruise through two popular websites - http://eq2.wikia.com/ and http://eq2.zam.com/
Check out the Beginner's Guides - Zones by level and other categories that interest you. I think you'll find so much actual content that it will be mind boggling - you just don't know where to start!
And BTW, if you are into grinding out levels, faction and so on - some people love it! - there is plenting of that, too.
I hope that helps to answer some of your questions. Good adventures to you no matter what you decide.

Why instead of simple answer you're linking me idiotic guides of how to level up in 7 hours with the help of some 5-boxing friends and buying in-game stuff for real money, something that is bannable offence in other pay-to-play games?
Why are you telling me that button-pressing in EQ2 is somehow requires some esoterical knowledge not found in other game of similar genre?
Why are you telling me that 'kill N of X' quests in EQ2 has some 'storylines' behind them, similarly not found in other games? No storyline quest encountered until level 25, great lore.
Why I'm being told to 'socialize with other players' when '/who all 1 69' request returns 11 results, including me? And zone chat is empty, level-range is empty, like other similar channels except Auction? 75% of my guild are 50+, should I beg them continiously to mentor me? LFG tool is completely empty, unheard of!
All that sectant rubbish instead of answer: Without alts, money spending sur subscription, paying people to boost you, and grouping with your imaginary friends, you will reach level 90 in __ day(s), __ month(s) and __ year(s), playing average for __ hour(s) per day. Simple question, simple answer, no bull...ing about wrong game choice, sacred EQ2 mission and somehow "deeper" contents.

Why don't you do yourself a favor and cancel your subscription now and find something else to do. Thanks.

Oh look, someone from the world's largest EQ2 server comes to say I'm wrong, game is perfectly healthy and newbie-friendly, and my questions are invalid. Glory! Hallelujah!
    Still no answer, though
P.S. I've never played World of Warcraft past trial, so stuck your envy and holywars someplace where sun doesn't shine.

I can personally hit 90 in a month of casual play (quests and groups when available, a few hours a day) with no powerleveling or uber gear. If you spend your time on the forums complaining about helpful links instead of playing, it's going to take you significantly longer.
  9. ARCHIVED-celestina936 Guest

You must be a troll or someone who cannot be happy no matter what. I just did a search on all you extremely negative unproductive posts.
If you hate this game so much - achievements, tradeskilling (you want to be able to bot), merging of servers....... why bother to post in these forums - except maybe to stir up peeps. Your trial is over.

This thread has headed in the wrong direction and since the OP sent it that way, I'm closing it.
