would be nice if you cheetah wouldn't allow the person picking up the flag to still run at 100+ speed.
Otherwise the snare effect is nice. just needs to work.

Pact of the cheetah makes my fury go from -35% to -15%, and anyways this snare is rettarded you should be able to just capture the flag and run away.

Oh, but you can--you just run away in a more sedate manner now. Get some covering fire. This isn't a sprint event, it's a battle. And, speaking as someone who played capture the flag IRL as a youth many years ago, it's rather nice to be able to actually kill the other folks instead of just tagging them.

    Edit: Fixed typo.

    no.
keep the snare there and disable the cheeta pact benefits while holding the flag.

allow me to capture the flag instead of having the flag getting halfway there and dieing and having every match end in a who can kill more people in the time given.

    Kill the right people.

Did they just steal your flag? Kill the guy with the flag.
Did you steal their flag? Kill the guys trying to kill the guy with the flag.

That said, it is probably "easier" to win on points for kills--and some folks will take that path of least resistance because of their lack of organization and skill precludes actually taking flags successfully--but I'd argue that any team who can keep their flag-stealers alive long enough to cap will win quickly. Efficiency counts for something, right?

cast before engaged to pvp and it will keep it's PVE values even after entering pvp combat or picking up flag. Been like tis forever, don't mind it in open world pvp, but Ganak's was revamped to force a snare on the carrier for a reason. Pretty much the definition of an exploit what's going on in Ganaks seing flag move over map at 100+ runspeed.
It's also not hard to stop opposing team from following you cause all it takes is attacking them and they're forced into combat and losing runspeed, unless of course they also have a fury who poped cheetah early.
Unless of course the idea about ganak map is a mini-game of who has they most furies.
There's also a certain Necro from Everfrost who just plain speed hacks to cap the flag, but that's a whole other issue...

No completely to the guy who said the snare should go away.

The BG is SUPPOSED to be challenging. I don't want to play a match that just because you have faster run speed but no team or coordination, you win the match.

This current system forces the person with the flag to travel with his team, to coordinate, and to actually fight rather than running around/jumping around with 100% run speed like an idiot.

Exactly! I had a blast in a few Ganak runs last night escorting the flag-stealer across the field. There's something very fun about taking the straight line back to capture ... right through massed enemy forces, and leaving a path of fallen foes. I've also had a lot of fun intercepting an enemy who picked up my team's flag, beating them down, and returning the colors to their place. Especially when their flag is sitting there waiting for the capture. :D

The snare is annoying, but fine. This map is probably one of the better designed maps however, I too, am tired of the run speed exploits so I stopped Que'ing for it unless its the daily. It's just as annoying as being taunt locked and unable to click the relic in Gear and Smugglers is not even worth the effort vs time least of all the fact t hat you don't get your full amount of earned tokens int he first place.

People with ... interesting amounts of run speed ... must be met with extreme prejudice. The 'tokens earned' issue has been described as a display issue in another thread--the amount we received (the text window update) was apparently correct, but the BG Leader window was showing too much sometimes.
