Game launcher still freezes up and won't lanch game since the last update that caused issues with the launcher. I opened a ticket and still haven't received a reply. Any ideas on a self fix? screen captureched.
Try deleting the LaunchPad.libs folder (in the folder where you've installed EQ2) and then try launching the game. That should "reset" the launcher and has fixed things for some folks. If you're using Steam, dump that version of the game entirely in the trash and re-install using the installer from Darkpaw instead. Reinstalling doesn't mean you have to download all 28GB of game data again. I wrote a post on how you can migrate an existing installation to a new location here: https://forums.daybreakgames.com/eq...talls-after-update.614863/page-2#post-6759161
I'm having the same experience. Looking at the Launcher log "ExternalLogging.log" Code: 2024-03-10 10:22:34 1710084154 48 4 4349026199 OnResolveName - address=69.174.203.134:20060. 2024-03-10 10:22:45 1710084154 319 2 4349036412 OnFailed - Failed. 2024-03-10 10:22:45 1710084154 321 4 4349036451 Reconnect to address lvs-gt-els02.daybreakgames.com:20061. 2024-03-10 10:22:45 1710084154 322 4 4349036457 OnResolveName - address=69.174.203.134:20061. 2024-03-10 10:22:55 1710084154 327 2 4349046675 OnFailed - Failed. 2024-03-10 10:22:55 1710084154 329 4 4349046703 Reconnect to address lvs-gt-els02.daybreakgames.com:20062. 2024-03-10 10:22:55 1710084154 330 4 4349046709 OnResolveName - address=69.174.203.134:20062. it looks like multiple connections are failing. The names are resolvable, but the IPs cannot be contacted. When a PING is sent, there is no reply. Code: Test-NetConnection -ComputerName "69.174.203.134" -Port 20061 WARNING: TCP connect to (69.174.203.134 : 20061) failed WARNING: Ping to 69.174.203.134 failed with status: TimedOut ComputerName : 69.174.203.134 RemoteAddress : 69.174.203.134 RemotePort : 20061 InterfaceAlias : Ethernet SourceAddress : x.x.x.x PingSucceeded : False PingReplyDetails (RTT) : 0 ms TcpTestSucceeded : False Testing TCP connection on that port also fails. Looks like there is some service that is not accepting connections. I've tried to connect from two separate networks in the southeast US with the same result. Not sure if this helps support if they check these forms, but that is all I can see at the moment.
As long as the I keep the launch open, this log continues to be written to. I appreciate any help or feedback.
Disregard. Error is not related to launcher issue at all. I did a clean install in a new directory and I was able to launch the game. That log must be an old hold over from the Sony days.
If your problem is with the launcher itself follow Arandar's advice above. If your problem is the client just shutting down after you hit 'play' then delete/rename your eq2_recent.ini file and let the system rebuild it. Be warned this will mean resetting a lot of your options. Edit: the problem setting in the eq2_recent.ini is the line: software_cursor_enabled true this needs to be deleted or set to false.
