Feedback: Ossuary of Resonance (Adv Solo)

    I'm currently in the basement fighting a 'primordial malice cultist' and it's adds. Fairly quickly into the fight, there's a fail condition....counter it or die. Looking at ACT, it seems that it may be the Deathly Chant cast by the cultist...but I don't see anything on it's cast bar.

    Any one have any suggestions....

    I bypassed (2) groups of mobs in the Trancept of Death area of the zone. I think these two groups are bugged. I had no other issues with the cultist groups in other parts of the zone. I'll bug it...avoid these mobs, insta-death.

    Also doing this right now, been insta-killed about 4 times.
    The first named guy on the balcony (praetor pheris) procced something called I think Bonewall, which hit me for 6 followed by "many zeros of damage" even when I ran off and left my merc fighting him somewhere (ie I was right by the exit door, no mobs or anything in sight).
    Also the groups pof mobs in the first downstairs area do not see to be pullable in managable numbers, and also procced something I cant find in the combat log that insta-killed the merc, then me.

    Seems to be the groups with a Primordial Malice / restless factotum in them - they just eat my merc (10 year vet paladin) and have me down in about 3 seconds thereafter.

    Switched to the basic solo one and I think I sussed the named guys uber spell was me being stupid sorry.

    I' a 98 Fury in full AoM quest gear and I'm having similar problems, see log exert below ...

    Kal is my ToV CE monk merk, can anyone explain the last line to me as the same happens to me just a few seconds later.

    There is no warning, no casting window under the name of the mob I am fighting, nothing that I can see, just bang your dead. I have tried a couple of times and it always seams to happen when fighting the second group in from the bottom of the right hand stair way. May happen other places in the zone but I gave up before my xp debt got any bigger.

    And what's with that Bonewall nuke from the first named? it's hitting me for some random 7 or 8 figure sum each time, Death prevent keeps me up first time but after that I'm dead and I can't seam to find any where or any way to avoid it.

    Do I need to stop fighting him when he makes his bone wall? Because I tried this once and still got one shoted. Any hints on this would be greatly appreciated.

    For the 1st named the only way I've found to successfully avoid the bonewall is to ensure my merc and pet are both behind the wall he teleports to with me. This amounts to me pulling him to the center, slowly burning him, then hitting a macro to throw pet and merc into Passive mode so they are sure to follow me otherwise they are likely to engage outside the wall and trigger the instakill on me.

    Whether the bonewall is intended to kill everyone if someone fails the mechanic is an answer for devs to decide but I would assume that only the people outside the wall are supposed to be killed.

    With that said that boss has a lovely habit of teleporting from 1 cubby all the way across to the next as soon as the bonewall does explode which doesn't leave you enough time to physically run that far (for many classes).

    Indeed, in thew basic solo one this was what I worked out. You have to get intothe alcove where he is casting his uber nuke before it goes off.
    Once it does get him him back to centrally located between the alcoves, as Jodiph said if you leave him in alcove A to fight he will teleport to Alcove B. Even with Furys Spirit of Cheetah on I only just made it between the 2 Alcoves in time.
    The downstairs mobs, something must be wrong in the Advanced Solo one. The basic solo one had no issues with such "invisible" effects triggering.
    Now can we discuss the group of 3 named who will one hit kill you if you dont stop them throwing their magical boomerangs ... Sorry I'm grumpy ;)

    Died like 4-5 times doing this Asolo.

    1) I sort of understood what was happening with the guy using a "wall of bones", but it seems that his aoe can be avoided in other ways (being out of los??). Anyway it's quite stupid since has often we don't have any clue about what should be done.

    2) Died twice from trash, no casting bar (but since there were many mob i only saw the casting bar of my target), no red sentence, no particular effect on ground. I just go 1 shot, narrative was full of garbage information. This is quite a terrible design, it certainly bears the signature of one the dev who probably costed SOE huge amount of cash due to account cancelations ;-) I tried to look in ACT, using the "death cause" feature but it was bugged too, apparently my death was not even recorded by the parser.

    3) On the trio, died twice before understanding that i had to interrupt some dude casting some "bone spear".

    I should probably had run first the "solo" version, but it was not part of the signature.

    => the amount of trash, coming in large group is just very boring, probably only sorcerers can have fun there.

    I did the solo version of the trio and I found it manageable when I targeted the bone spear caster first.

    Yeah, this zone still needs a lot of work. I know in beta I couldn't get past the first room at any point as trash mobs were 1 shotting me.

    My experience in the solo version:
    1. Praetor Pheris: No indication anywhere of what you're supposed to do to counter the bone wall. Nothing to give you any indication at all of what's going on. Sometimes I was out of the alcove and lived through the explosion other times I was just inside and died to it. I even tried running back to the zone and still died to it so I guess it's a zone wide AoE.
    2. Second named in the circle of coffins. Not sure if there's supposed to be anything to this or not but I pulled her out of the circle and just burned her down.
    3. Named Ushers: Again, no indication of what's going on. You're fighting, the one you're on disappears so you switch and then suddenly you're dead with a chunk of wood sticking out of your corpse. No casting indication, nothing in the log files that I can find indicating what's going on.
    4. Priestess: Once again not sure what you're supposed to do but I killed the mobs in both of the alcoves and then pulled her into one and burned her down.
    5. Final Encounter: I have no idea how to get past this one. Only 1 of the choir members was showing as aggro so I started with her. All of them and the guy playing the organ came and attacked me but I managed to burn her down. As soon as she died she popped back up and all of the other choir members went to full health. I tried just focusing on the guy from the organ but he keeps going non-aggro and running back to the organ then coming back into the fight. You can't kill the adds and something is causing the main guy to heal and do massive amounts of damage but I have no idea what. I'm not seeing anything to click on the organ. I've tried kiting them I've tried just burning them down. I have no clues.
    This was on a 98 Ranger that has finished the Signature quest so in full AoM quest gear and using the CE merc with the CE mount.

    In general this zone needs to provide some indication of what you're supposed to do and it's not.

    I too can't figure out this zone.
    So far the issue is the trash mobs for me.
    I can kill the 1st two named but I keep running into these 4 packs of trash that basically one-shot me and my merc.

    We both died instantly at this point, although neither of us had taken enough damage to kill us based on damage vs hitpoints(not even counting heals during this time).

    I am in the AoM quest gear at a smidge over 100k resists.

    If there was some clue as to how to avoid the instant death I am not seeing it.

    He doesn't disappear, he detargets, ports to the other side of the room, and starts a long cast (bonespear) - and you have to run over to him. I don't know if it's run over to him and interrupt, or run over to him and stand behind, or run over to him just to be out of the target area. But when he vanishes, you have to go get to him or you're dead.

    I think it's any group with a "malicious effacer" or "cultist sacrificer" in it - the effacer casts an uncurable 50% reducation on your arcane or nox resists and then casts Resonating Touch/Deathly Chant . I gave up in the advanced solo a little earlier.. couldn't AoE block it, couldn't dispel it, the only thing I didn't try was Singular Focus on other mobs to see whether it was a reactive or something.. I'll give that a whirl tomorrow.. will also try pulling them and just sitting there to see whether the same thing happens, that rules out SF :)

    We were having the same problems in the heroic, we had more trouble with this trash than we did the names! (We actually cleared all the heroic names but couldn't kill the trash!) - we'd go from full health to dead instantly even with 2 healers in the group.. we couldn't see the mobs casting anything that would cause it. They're either broken or there's a simple strategy that's being missed..

    Run over and interrupt definitely works, it's what I've been doing in every version of the instance.

    Apologies for the long post but I really need to figure this one out its driving me nuts!!!

    Figured out what's been (and still is) one shotting me in the AS instance. I just killed first named (once I ran into alcove with mob and pulled my merc all the way in with me was easy, thanks for all the hints on this one guys, very much appreciated) then went down the south stairway.

    At the bottom I pulled and easily disposed of the first group of 4, Then I pulled the Solo "A cultist sacrificer" well the results are bellow .... (again Kal is my ToV CE monk merc 1.1mil HPs)

    This time I was paying a bit more attention, not that I am 100% sure of what I saw it all happened so fast, She cast some black vortex thing, I think it was actually called "Sacrifice", the cast was so fast I could not interrupt it nor did I have time to run away. I dont know what the spell is supposed to do but it just completely ignored my Undaunted (death prevent) and killed me anyway.

    Ok so I fully rebuffed and went back down, btw whatever that spell is it creates "A rissen sacrifice" where the merc and me died cleaned them up pretty easy then breezed through the first sacrificer, didn't even try to cast on me. Killed some of the other yard trash as I moved towards the north stairway then hit the group of 4 one of which is a sacrificer. rechecked all buffs to be 100% sure I had all my wards and my Undaunted up and ready to go and Kal and I were 100% health. I pulled the group targeting the sacrificer and bang Merc is dead, I go into full self healing mode hoping to stay alive long enough to record something in the log I can use to figure this out and well ...

    The most frustrating thing is there no real indication of what's happening, it's just splat, dead. It sounds like the sacrificers cast a similar thing to the Elder named (Persecute) but they do it instantly so you don't have a chance to move. Regardless, I thought we were either missing something or it was broken in the heroic, for it to happen in the Adv Solo and one-shot with no feedback/information and nothing in the log makes me think its broken. I'd /bug in game again.

    By the way, you're not on Splitpaw by any chance are you? We haven't got the patch yet... and the update notes say "Basepop will now be slightly easier." for Ossuary, could be related.

    Experimenting more in the zone I found that the 4 packs that were one shotting me and merc can be avoided by carefully picking how you go through the zone.

    Now to the last boss.
    I don't know if I am too weak on dps or just too squishy still.
    I kill the choir and they all revive.
    I kill some of the choir and focus on named and he teleports away(seemed to heal some then too) and the dead choir comes back to life.
    I ignore the choir and focus on named in between teleports and my healer can't quite keep up with the damage the full choir does.

    In the regular solo I killed choir, killed him and done.

    Maybe thats what they want us to do, just avoid the Sacrificers altogether, but, then why even put them in zone ?

    Possible they are basically a trap device. Makes players need to be careful and pay attention to what they pull.

    Killed final named and choir finally.
    Merc on passive and went spiritual and out healed it.
    Took about 6 minutes to kill that way.
