    [p]Nope, not how it works.[/p][p]Actual Chance % = (Cast time/3) * Displayed %[/p][p]So for a 1.8 per min proc, you get 9% like you said. But that 9% is the Displayed %. So for a 2 sec cast...[/p][p]Actual chance % = 2/3 * 9[/p][p]Actual Chance = 6%[/p]

    [p]Ah ok, so if I just cast a spell every 30 seconds, it should proc 90%. [/p][p]30/3 * 9 = 90% right?[/p][p]How does the computer know if you are casting or just idle?[/p][p] [/p]

    [p]Are you trying to be funny or something?[/p][p]When the formula calls for "Cast time" do you think maybe you should enter a cast time and not some random number you pull out from somewhere?[/p]

    [p]Well, yeh trying to be a little funny. But seriously, would be cool to know how the computer calculates this proc. [/p][p]I was thinking that faster casting ment more procs. [/p][p]Or does Illusionist have a different "chance to proc" then say a Wiz. When I equip a proc item, does it change its "% to proc" for my class? (which would mean its nerfed down for fast casters) Or is the "chance to proc" unchanged no matter who equips it? (which would mean fast casting = more procs per minute)[/p][p] [/p]

    [p]Ok...[/p][p]Actual Chance % = (Cast time/3) * Displayed %[/p][p]Wizard cast a 3 sec spell.[/p][p] (3/3) * 9% = 9% chance to proc when a 3 sec cast time spell is cast.[/p][p]Illusionist casts a 3 sec spell.[/p][p](3/3) * 9% = 9% chance to proc when a 3 sec cast time spell is cast.[/p][p]----[/p][p]Wizard cast a 6 sec spell.[/p][p] (6/3) * 9% = 18% chance to proc when a 6 sec cast time spell is cast.[/p][p]Illusionist casts a 6 sec spell.[/p][p](3/3) * 9% = 18% chance to proc when a 6 sec cast time spell is cast.[/p][p]----[/p][p]Wizard cast a 1 sec spell.[/p][p] (1/3) * 9% = 3% chance to proc when a 1 sec cast time spell is cast.[/p][p]Illusionist casts a 1 sec spell.[/p][p](1/3) * 9% = 3% chance to proc when a 1 sec cast time spell is cast.[/p][p]This is the basics.[/p][p]Now for the hard part.[/p][p]Both casters now have 100% spell hast.[/p][p]Wizard cast a 3 sec spell.[/p][p] (3/3) * 9% = 9% chance to proc when a 3 sec cast time spell is cast. Even tho its cast faster.[/p][p]Illusionist casts a 3 sec spell.[/p][p](3/3) * 9% = 9% chance to proc when a 3 sec cast time spell is cast. Even tho its cast faster.[/p][p]----[/p][p]Wizard cast a 6 sec spell.[/p][p] (6/3) * 9% = 18% chance to proc when a 6 sec cast time spell is cast. Even tho its cast faster.[/p][p]Illusionist casts a 6 sec spell.[/p][p](3/3) * 9% = 18% chance to proc when a 6 sec cast time spell is cast. Even tho its cast faster.[/p][p]----[/p][p]Wizard cast a 1 sec spell.[/p][p] (1/3) * 9% = 3% chance to proc when a 1 sec cast time spell is cast. Even tho its cast faster.[/p][p]Illusionist casts a 1 sec spell.[/p][p](1/3) * 9% = 3% chance to proc when a 1 sec cast time spell is cast. Even tho its cast faster.[/p][p]Conclusion.[/p][p]Spell haste = good for procs pr. minute[/p][p]Cast time = Irrelevant for procs pr. minute.[/p][p]There it is in generel terms[/p]

    Standard debuffs. We don't use hex dolls that I know of.
    BE = Bolt of energy, or spells that add to damage, (caps at 200)
    Minshatter is off the orb, adds damage to mental spells
    I am fully mastered, dps spec'd, with full fabled EoF set gear (8% bonus to crits).
    Start with around 40% power mana flow self, use momentary sent, cast, cast , cast, once Flow goes off I use savante, use power abilities, shards, crystal gifts if you have em to stay under 30%.
    Here is a average parse from MMIS, this is not our best by far, just trying to give you an example of who is where on the parse. We had no wizard. 2 mobs in this fight.
    3:20 fight
    Warlock = 3180.75 (troub)
    Swashbuckler = 3171.77 (dirge, coercer)
    Assasin = 3068.61 (bezerker, dirge)
    Necromancer = 2592.87 (troub)
    Brigand = 2478.50 (dirge, bezerker)
    Necromancer2 = 2388.10 (Synergism)
    Ranger = 2318.52 (With IA and 75 haste) <-- Slacker!
    Warlock2 = 2058.54 (With TC and syn) < -- Slacker!
    Illusionist = 2023.65 (warlock, necro, ranger, bruiser, templar, warden) my [I cannot control my vocabulary] group set up
    Coercer = 1916.17 (dirge)

    Same fight, DPS from Proc ITEMS DPS from proc spell
    Warlock = 279.37 (5 damage proc items) (bard) 55.9 per item Dissonant Note 233
    Necromancer = 164.58 (4 damage proc items) (bard) 41.1 per item Dissonant Note 287
    Necromancer2 = 169.95 (8 damage proc items) 21.2 per item Synergism 245
    Warlock2 = 66.25 (2 damage proc items) 33.1 per item Synergism 149
    Illusionist = 105.79 (3 damage proc items) 35.2 per item Synergism 247
    Coercer = 177.09 (3 damage proc items) (bard) 59.0 per item
    You can do all the math you want but the proof is in the parse. Here is what I have found from looking at parses on diffeent people in different groups. This trend stays fairly consistant.
    Most proc items will add about 20-30 dps, if you have high crit percentage or get a bard, you will see 30-50dps from some items. If you have high crits and get a bard you will see around 60dps off some items. In rare massive aoe cases I have seen a warlock do 120 with burning affliction off the belt.

    well ya, you guys using the 7-person group exploit, no wonder!
    I can see your point tho, If you doing that much dps then the procs dont mean hardly nothing. But for us earthbound people, the procs are a good boost.

    Incorrect. BoE caps at 100% of a spells damage. So if a certain spell does 500 damage, then you can add 500 more damage to it through BoE. Then DoTs have their caps calculated by their ticks....so if a dot ticks for 200, then the cap for that spell is 200. However, with the coming changes, DoTs will have their cap calulated by the combined damage of all the ticks.
