So... while windows update wasn't showing any updates needed... when I went to shut down the other day the machine was trying to install 206 updates. I got to digging around and found out there was a problem with windows update. Once I got that fixed and everything updated the launcher is now loading and is currently patching. So, maybe it will work. Very odd seeing windows update going from 34 optional language packs listed to 206 important updates needed.

Well, it is installed, it will run, but the graphic driver repeatedly crashes and I never get anything besides a black screen. Edited all the possible settings down to as low as possible but it's just too much. Guess they should reevaluate their minimum specs.

You may wanna try a older driver for your card.

I also recommend you use Download Display Driver Uninstaller DDU when uninstalling display drivers.

And if you don't have the game installed in a custom folder like c:\Games\EQ2 I suggest you move the game folder to one to prevent other problems.

Lastly you can always uninstall/reinstall DX9.0c

Many problems like yours were the result of a performance update to the game a year ago which caused issues with older video cards such as yours.

The driver revert actually did the trick, I didn't expect to see EQ 2 running on this machine.
