I find that after all these years it gets tired looking at a window that takes up 1/4- 1/3 of the screen. Is there a reason it has to be? If not, I'd like a slim version that has only the progress/durability bar, and maybe the hotbar.

If you closed/minimized all of those you'd be left with just the name of the recipe floating on your screen while you craft. I think it would be kinda disjoined when you finish a combine and you pop back to the full recipe book.
