1) Can tanks actually tank in PvP? That is, do taunts work - can they do things that encourage their opposition to need to eliminate them first? For example, in Warhammer, tanks had abilities that - while not like PvE tanking, amounted to the same thing. Mass Snares, mana drains, etc... you WANTED to kill the tank first. 2) Does stealth work? That is, are stealthed players really invisible to the other faction? Thanks again!
Yes, you can taunt in PvP (as well as evade to drop target). Its probably the highlight of EQ2 PvP as far as I'm concerned, and one of the only games I've ever played where roles are actually able to carry over into PvP. Yes, stealth does make you invisible to most players. Some classes can detect stealth players however.
1) Yes, it is important for the tank to taunt. don't taunt the other tank, but go after who ever appears to be the wain assist. Get them to stick on you. 2) Stealth works. There are easily crafted totems that grant see invis and see stealth to players. Also, if a stealthed player gets close enough to an enemy, they will see through the stealth.
