Commands to control merc settings

If I tell my merc to backoff, it sets it to passive. Is there a slash command or something else that I can put in a macro to set the various fields? As is I have to hit both blue react buttons, the Protect dropdown, and the Assist dropdown if I call my pet back for any reason.

I use the DarqUI merc window, and it has a pull button that puts the merc into passive for 5 seconds after it aggro's then resets the 2 blue react buttons. But it doesn't reset the other settings.

Also I think the assist option is a bit buggy, if I mez a mob he takes that as an attack command and breaks my mez. I set assist in groups because if I don't take damage, I have to tell him who to attack for every mob or he just stands around.

Anyone out there having better luck controlling their merc?

    • /merc ranged
    • /merc melee
    • /merc resume (unsuspends the merc)
    • /mercname
    • /merc attack
    • /merc backoff
    • /togglemerc (this will toggle the merc window on and off)
    • /cl_ignore_merc_chatter [true|false] - toggles mercenary group chat on and off.

Am aware of those. I'm looking for something that sets the preserve_master and preserve_self states, short of taking the time in combat to hit those buttons on both pet and merc.
