Mounts that were equipped during merger are also bugged so that the hotkey won't activate with that mount. I have tried zoning, relogging, outside zones, etc.
As I just posted in the other thread on this - the rumor is if you cancel your mount/familiar buffs (Crate or Ethereal) and recast you will be able to recast your mount and familiar afterward.
