Berserker is as close to "Warrior" as you'll get. But if you look at classes overall, classes = holy trinity + support. Fighters = tankish, priest = healerish, mage =dpsish, scouts = supportish
All fighters are tanks but some of them are more dps oriented that others. The Bruiser at the start of the game was primarily a dps class that could also tank.
All fighter classes are designed for tanking. They fill out that function and are all capable of getting the job done. Some of them just do more DPS than others. None of them are *supposed* to match up with the DPS levels that designated mages or scouts are capable of putting out (except Troubadors and Dirges-- they're buff oriented scouts more than damage), but there have been some tweaks and balances here and there that make some fighter classes really stand out.
Of the roughly ten people left who play bruisers unironically, there are probably 3 that are any good, and that's not because of the people playing them. All fighter classes are tanks. Except bruises, who have been left behind for so long, they're little more than bulwark-casters.
All fighters are tanks. Their damage is not really balanced in any kind of way that makes sense. Although neither is their defensive ability. Basically, just think of them at tanks. They do decent damage when well-geared, but significantly less than DPS classes. Do not roll a fighter if you are wanting to play a DPS class. If you want to accomplish a DPS type character that stylistically resembles a fighter, in terms of looking/acting 'heavy', your best bet is to probably roll a brigand or swashbuckler and set up your appearance gear such that you look like a warrior. Brigand will accomplish the "feel" of being more fightery more than a swashbuckler. Put yourself in some plate appearance with a big two hander or something. The wardrobe system does not restrict based on class. Anyway, you get the idea.
