Server Name Suggestions - Everfrost, Guk, Unrest

I'm not even playing on this server and I think you all deserve a new poll, those names are awful. They ignored so many good suggestions like Bonemire, Cloudmist, or Whisperwind. I am a little suspicious though that they already have the names picked out and these threads / polls are just for show.

Agree Bonemire should have been there from what I've seen of this thread.

It wasn't my first choice but a lot better with what we got to vote on.

I haven't come across anyone that likes any of the 'chosen' names.
Are we being trolled?

Well I personally suggested Halls of Fate after I reallized the only wanted zone names not mobs (I had wanted something like Sothis or Taranix or some such). So I like that one well enough, I was very disappointed it was zone only though.

Apparently. When I saw the poll options I thought WTF? Were any of those even asked for? And what game names servers using sentences and phrases. I didn't vote because I don't like any of the choices.

Then I saw the post with the other server name options. They have at least one option that is cool. Their other options all suck, but they both have at least one that doesn't suck.

I did see a lot of people suggesting some of those wordy suggestions, personally I was like, are you silly, we have to type those out in cross server chat.
I think it is partially this thread's fault, but I also think they should have included a couple of the one word suggestions like Blackscale, Whisperwind, Bonemire

I want a new Poll with more options that include the original and also some of the one word suggestions that have been posted.

It appears the poll is not limited to zones, but includes instances. The instance "Halls of Fate" looks like the only remotely acceptable name. I would have liked to have seen some of the island names included in the poll. Hidden Refuge, Temple Grounds, or Blackwind Isle. I agree with the others that Bonemire should have been included (not that I am fond of the name)

Or we could ruin the whole place and have an ERP server called Breeding Grounds.

Just for some fun I tallied up all the suggestions. I didn't include anything that didn't meet the criteria such as existing, previous, or silly server names. I removed "The" in front of two "Halls of Fate" entries and "Isle" from 4 "Cloudmist" and "Whisperwind" suggestions to give weight to the consensus.

I used a very simple aggregate query put them in descending order by count.

The results of your query clearly show the devs took the player feedback into consideration for server names we could vote on......

I too would prefer one word names.

Sorry about the formatting. I couldn't get html or bb code to work. I tried putting it in code tags but my edit timer ran out before I finished it. To save a little space I put it in code tags this time. I fixed a couple of mistakes too. A few entries had some copy/paste errors.

I would loved for DBG to have picket the top 15 or so and had a run off and then a final vote with the top 5 after that. Oh well, at least this gives a general idea of the consensus forum posters came to.

Honestly, it's even more frustrating to see it laid out so plainly like that. It's as though the person who sifted through this thread (assuming anyone did at all) counted every mention of Awakened as a nod to "Palace of the Awakened," and Scaleborn for "Sanctum of the Scaleborn," and so on. This was surely not the intent.

The poll needs to be abandoned and restarted with suitable options.

What I find really silly is that the one server not being merged and renamed is Antonia Bayle. An NPC name.
Common sense would have followed this ruleset for the new servers, and we could have had far more single word choices like Tarinax, Pantrilla, Hurricanus etc, ALL of which are far cooler and easier to type for cross server stuff.

Yeah, it seems pretty screwy that only one of the top 10 make the poll.

This whole name your server event is just a mere illusion of choice. DBG have already chosen server names they like and fill up rest of the pool with unacceptable options. In the land of the blind, one-eyed man is king.
