Idea for increasing population on future TLP servers.

A lot of people are tempted to come back but don't do it because of the time commitment of starting from nothing.

    So how about...

Your first character per account per TLP server get a huge exp bonus. Any alts would be back to whatever the server norm is.(say via single claimable not heirloom no drop bauble, or whatever.)

Would encourage people on the fence to come back and re-sub. Would encourage paying for a second sub when you want an alt. Etc.

I know some would say it would reduce XP potion sales, but that would be negligible compared to the additional sub money.

Less xp potions, more people at end game faster contesting for camps that farmers are at trying to sell you crap for a krono forcing you to buy said krono which could result in less krono sales. Some people don't like alts and would not want to level to end game in a couple of days and then wait several months for new content to unlock.

Not saying they could not do a LOD type AA that you can claim on one toon. 30 mins of double xp per day would be reasonable but whats the rush? Further why are so many people interested in making even more servers? Four TLP servers in less than 3 years seems to be going at a pretty fast pace as it is. Agnarr has not even seen its first unlock and people are already looking for the next server.

    The population of Agnarr is pretty high... and you want even more people? Seems fine to me;;

Pretty sure daybreak would like even more customers.

Well I almost didn't come back but the faster exp than other TLPs got me to. I'm betting that are many more like me if the exp bonus was huge for your first char.

With how fast the leveling on agnarr is, I can't believe your even asking for this.
Maybe it seems so fast because right before agnarr, I just finished leveling a character to 60 on p1999.

If DB want's more paying customers they should hire a couple of interns and have them enforce a pnp. Maybe they could also actually decrease the number of 3rd party software users and clean up some the scumbags roaming around the TLPs.
    Orxbane likes this.

The very nature of TLPs prevent them from maintaining a high population. People that want to experience as close to original EQ as they can easily get will stay only a period of time. Example, I don't intend to even play EQ beyond LDoN. No XP bonus is going to change that.

In cases where someone waited long before coming to the server, XP speed isn't an issue. It just isn't.

Yeah I mean honestly, if you group well, and in the right zones...being dungeons mostly. You will find the exp grind to be silly fast. Long as you have 3 hours, because sometimes it takes me an hour to find a group, then you can do quite a bit really.

I can easily get 2-3 levels chain pulling for my groups in dungeons, I am 38 and long as you continue to move with your lvl and don't hang around past your prime fighting greens and light blues, you can shuffle along quickly. I would say up to mid-upper teens really sucked but past that its been so fast, I forgot I had Flying Kick until 4 levels after I earned it...didn't even slow down enough to check any skills that I had received.

I agree, I have limited play time now myself, but if they allowed us to all rush a main to 50, I'm afraid people would quit playing very much till next xpac and by then, they have just move on in general after starting up other games and what not. I think that may lead to a massive influx of players then like a vacuum a massive exodus of players.

This speed really does seem good, but I feel your pain about time issues in busy RL.

Bolded for emphasis. You still came back. The #1 complaint on forums for peoples assumed not coming back or not staying is krono existing.

I would unerf solo xp in such a way that good soloers would level as fast as grouped peoples.
Indeed in classic solo leveling was faster for some classes.

I would get ride of those absurdly large guilds, 70+ raid are a joke even in 24 people raid you already have space for slacker and bad players ... with 70 i guess that at least 20 are not really focused.

My guild is really large it's almost as anonymous than the general population, and a handful of members are people that i would gladly have on my ignore list.

There is no way to get a decent and friendly guild with more than 30 accounts.

Start the next one with Luclin from the getgo so people can actually utilize all those awesome kunark and luclin leveling spots and not feel holed into the same grindy camps as always.
