    Never a human
    I wanna try human
How's the leveling over at qeynos? Till I get sow and invis and goto fay

I'm not sure actually. This time around some humans (people playing monks) will become Iksar so there should be fewer than on past Classic launch servers. I assume there will still be enough to group with, but it should be less than on past TLP launches.

Blackburrow is byfar one of the best low level dungeons that many people bypass and is usually dead empty from my experience on TLPs.
Qeynos / Qeynos Hills are decent fillers for the 1-8 range but not really high mob density if you plan on leveling fast.
    Everfrost offers 1-20 level range,
Permafrost is almost always empty other than the wizard crews going through for Staff of Temp Flux quest items. 13+
West Karana can take you to low to mid 20s.
North/East/South Karana can take you to low to mid 30s
Highpass for like 15-20s also then Highkeep for 30s.

Overall in my opinion it is not a fast leveling path but it offers a ton of options but none with really high mob density and ZEM.

You might find Perma a bit more populated on this server. Perma gobbies can drop a lot of really nice things. The 26-30 range is particularly nice. Peggy cloaks, CGS, Ring of the Ancients, Brazier of Elemental Summoning, Gatorscale, Pearl Kedge Totem, Reed belt. All sorts of nice things for newbies leveling up.

Biggest issue I see with this path is you don't get a whole lot of named in those zones. Which seems like it misses out on the biggest draw of the server, to get lots of loot.

    I do agree.
I wasn't taking loot into account, just the level path.
Perma gobbies has a decent named rate of like 7-10 in the zone, which isn't bad but that run to get into that zone is a nightmare for many especially on past TLPs.

I tend to stick to MM for the 23-36 range named and it is overly saturated with named in the castle.

My original Druid was a Human, and I quickly got them to G-Fay....The biggest problem with Human Druids is they have NO night vision and in many places it is a real PITA....

I guess you can always make a human in Qeynos and if it sucks you can race change to fix it.

Qeynos is a great leveling zone. As a druid, you will start in Surefall glade. Once you get to lev 2, buy your dot spell lev 2 and run to Noth Qeynos . Bind there and level to lev 4 there. Then you can go to Blackburrow up to lev 12/13 and mix it with qeynos hills or everfrost and origin when you need new spells and stuff. Just beware of an npc that roams in the hills and will kill you if you are engaged with a bear or a wolf. She can be quite annoying. Then you have West karana to start experiencing the druid class more to its purpose. Once you get sow ( think it s 14) you can run carefully to gfay . You could even before, up to you. ( A lot of people do it via South karana and the swamp). the best part of it is really blackburrow. It's an infinit source of exp up to lev 13. it gets a bit slower afterwards.
Thats how i would level a druid or ranger from Surefall. As a melee i would also go to the qeynos sewers to hunt a bit. Good luck and have fun !

The big problem with Blackburrow is utter lack of "rare" mobs, compared to similar newbie dungeons, which is important on Teal.

Qeynos Sewers does have some very low level named though!

Sadly Permafrost has not been used for exp since
    ..1999 :-(

Also for good races, classes, bandit sashes are decent play and faction also!

You get 2 to 3 PP per sash turn in (includes selling the random weapon you get). The sashes are NODROP(in general, not on Teek), Don't stack. Also massive faction hits, including negative ones for sewers necro guild.

Bad stats, bad vision, lousy starting area...... mustache? If it's a masochistic thing, then by all means, but there aren't really any benefits. If you just want something different, you could roll a half elf and start in tree town. Still pretty crappy stats, but at least you can see and have a decent starting spot.

Make a Human Druid, then create a Wood Elf persona of any other class to "warp" there. Then swap back to your Druid. Viola! You're a Human Druid in Gfay at level 1.

The Qeynos leveling path sucks. Blackburrow is okay, until like level 14, then your options basically suck without going to Faydwer.
  13. IheartEQ Elder

A human druid with an anonymous tag is fun because no one ever assumes their druid status. Halfling, half-elves, and wood-elves without plate armor get bombarded with tells for buffs.
    code-zero and Appren like this.

Make a wood elf person of a class you think you might want to play at some point in the future, cause you can't delete those things.
  15. Ownanat Journeyman

Thanks for all the advice. The persona thing sounds like a good idea. Do I need laurions song to use it tho?

    yes

I did a human druid on Mangler. It was just fine. By the time you need easier access to freeport, you have self-ports. The one downside is I missed the freeport origin because its so close to so many things. Levelling up though on a vanilla(not done vanilla+kunark before) server was quite easy. QH to Blackburrow to Permafrost to wherever you want, by the time done with Perma have group ports. Took my group to LGUK and finished there.

The origin to SFG is kinda meh since its literally where you port to anyway. At least the halfling and elf origin is not the exact same spot as their port in, in fact the elf one is very useful since Butcherblock druid ring is a little hike to Kelethin.

What did I like about being human? Eyepatch and pornstache of course.

If your dead set on a human druid, go for it, but it is definitely not the best choice if you are going for aesthetic's etc. So wood elf's have the quest line to get a clicky root necklace early on and a few other odd's and ends. They can see during the night fairly well. Their starter is by all accounts better, and remember this, your origin DOES have a major effect on your leveling speed. Travel time is the biggest cause of time loss in the early expansions. Since you have ports though you should be fine after you hit 18 or so. Qeynos is not the ideal place for a good leveling path but its not terrible either. My personal preference is to start out in Gfay. Unrest has an extremely good xp modifier for lower levels and there are a ton of named mobs. I think my mage and enchanter crew had full lowbie gear by the time i left. Goblin rings, peggy cloaks, jboot rings from the basement, etc. So just keep all of that in mind. If you start in Qyenos nothing in blackburrow drops anything of note even with random loot. The goblins out near permafrost and in the keep do, but there is honestly only about 3-4 named spawns in the entire place for the lvl 20-30 range. Good luck!

Id say it can be done, but it is definitely the path of most resistance. Druids already somewhat struggle to get groups (though not so much at low levels cause it doesnt matter that much) and Blackburrow is probably one of the least used dungeons in classic (especially with Kunark open).

I could see it having problems finding groups once you solo to 5-6 (and you want to group after that, it just is MUCH faster).

Persona idea is a great one though if your deadset on Human
